7. Camping Trip

Grayson's family invited me to go on a camping trip with them. I said yes but I wanna stay away from Ethan.

He's just messing with all of my emotions right now and I just wanna focus on myself.

"Jasmine are you ready?"
My mom said walking into my room. I had just finished packing up my stuff and was ready to go.

"Yeah I'm ready."
I said giving her a small smile. I'm actually surprised she's letting me go since she's super overprotective about most things.

We walked downstairs where my dad and Grayson were waiting on me. They always got along super well which made me super happy.

Grayson smiled once he saw me walking down.

"Finally."
He said with a smile still plastered on his face.

"Shut up."
I laughed as I set my stuff down. We were going to be gone for a week so I packed kind of light.

"Bye sweetheart have fun and don't have sex."
My mom said which made me get embarrassed.

"Mom I'm not going to have sex."
I said as I hugged her and my dad.

"Good. Love you bye."
My dad said as I walked out of the door to Grayson's car. I waved before shutting the door behind me.

"Hand me your stuff."
Grayson said as he opened the back. I gave him all of it and he shut the door.

We got into the car and started driving. We had to stop at his house because we were taking less cars.

"How are you doing jaz?"
He said as he glanced over at me. I was actually doing kinda good. Well besides Ethan saying he loves me and everyone spreading lies about me around school.

"I'm good Gray."
I smiled at him.

We pulled into Grayson's driveway where everyone was loading stuff into cars. Lisa and Ethan were arguing because she was being too rough.

"Mom! Be careful!"
Ethan yelled running over to his stuff.

"Ethan I have to make it fit."
She said annoyed by her son. Ethan grabbed his stuff out of her hands and did it himself. Lisa threw her hands up and rubbed her face.

She looked over and saw that Grayson and I had arrived and a smile took over her stressed face.

"Jasmine!"
She yelled walking over to me as I got out of the car.

"Hey Lisa."
I smiled as she pulled me into a hug. Lisa and I have always gotten along. She always says she thinks of me as her own daughter.

"You ready to go?"
She smiled at me as she pulled back.

"Yes! It's gonna be so much fun!"
I said getting excited about leaving all the drama.

"Good! You'll be riding with Ethan."
When she said this my heart started beating faster.

"Oh I thought I was going with Grayson."
I said hoping the plans would change and I could go with him.

"Grayson requested he not drive so he can sleep the whole way."
She said as Ethan walked up behind her.

"Why? You don't wanna ride with me?"
He said raising his eyebrow and crossing his arms.

My heart rate picked up as I tried to think of an excuse why I didn't want to ride with him.

"No! It's just I haven't got to spend much time with Gray lately."
I said which was partly true. Grayson and I haven't hung out much since my break up and I really wanna be with him right now.

"Don't worry jaz."
Grayson said from behind me wrapping his arms around me.

"We'll have so much time together on the trip."
He said as he kissed my cheek.

I smiled and looked up at Ethan who had a pissed off look on his face.

"Okay lets go!"
Lisa yelled causing everyone to get into the cars. I walked over to Ethans and got in.

Ethan started the car and pulled out of the driveway.

"How long until we get there?"
I asked him.

"Three hours."
I groaned at his words. I hate long car rides.

"Well I'm going to sleep."
I said adjusting myself to a comfortable position.

"Wait can we talk."
Ethan spoke causing me to sit back up.

"Sure."
I said even though I really didn't want too.

"How are you doing?"
He asked me with concern in his voice.

"I'm good E. Why?"

"I mean with the break up and everything."
His words caught me off guard. Why is he bringing this up? I came on this trip to get away from all of that.

"Ethan I really don't wanna talk about this right now."
I said as I looked out the window.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you."
He said which made me feel bad. I looked over at him and gave him a small smile.

"It's okay E. Let's just focus on the trip."
I told him.

He nodded his hand and smiled. I then felt his hand grab onto mine. I held it back as I leaned my head back and drifted off to sleep.
