I woke up the next morning and my face felt so sore. I had to get to school early because Ms. Martha, my Pre Calculus teacher, wanted me to tutor a student who was in Algebra 1. Brooke didn't want to get up early to walk with me so I went by myself. No one is there this early, besides whichever student I was gonna tutor. It's funny how in one class I am the tutor and in another I need a tutor.

I walked into Ms. Martha's class and saw a kid with a blonde streak in his dark brown hair sitting in front of her desk. He wore a white muscle tank with a faded batman logo on it and black jeans. That blonde streak and his strong arms looked awfully familiar.

"Oh, good morning Violet." Ms. Martha said and the kid in front of her turned around. And I remembered my sore face.

"Um, hello." I coughed and walked over to them.

"Violet, this is Gabe. This was the student I told you about." She said and I shook hands with him. I couldn't even look him in the eyes. "Violet is one of my greatest students and every student that has worked with her has definitely improved." She said and I faked a smile. "What day and time would be best for the both of you?" She asked and neither of us said anything.

"Um, is Tuesday alright with you? After school?" I said and looked at him.

"Sure, whatever." He said quickly.

"Ok, guys, this is great. Violet, I hope to see some improvement from Gabe in these next few weeks." She said and I nodded. "You two are free to go." She pat us on the shoulder and we walked out of the classroom. I walked quickly down the hallway to avoid having to talk to him.

"Violet, wait." He said and I stopped. I rolled my eyes and turned around. "What?"

"I don't usually apologize for beating people up, but since you're my tutor, I kind of need to pass this class. So, sorry for hitting you." He shrugged and waited for a response from me.

"Whatever, I don't care." I rolled my eyes and tried to walk away. He grabbed my arm, tightly and took a deep breath.

"Look, I said I was sorry. Can you at least accept my apology?" He fumed. I nodded and he released his grip on me. I can't believe I have to tutor this piece of shit. Yeah, I thought he was cute but I thought I would never have to talk to him again. I walked to the front tables outside of the school.

I saw Brooke walking towards me and I looked at her. "Oh god, what happened?" She asked and sat next to me.

"Guess who I have to tutor?"

"Who?"

"One stripe." I said and she gasped.

"Oh my god. What if he kills you?"

"Stop! Don't say that! What the hell?!" I screamed.

"I was talking to Andrea in my art class and she said that last year, a kid was bullied so terribly by Gabe that he committed suicide. I don't think it's a good idea to be with him, alone." She said worriedly.

"It's alright, he apologized to me this morning." I said and we started walking inside the school.

Lunchtime came and I remembered that Mr. Martinez wanted to talk about a tutor for Spanish. I grabbed my bag and made my way to his classroom. I don't think a tutor would help but I couldn't have a D on my report card.

"Buenos tardes Señorita Rose!" He said as wrote on some papers.

"Hey." I sighed.

"So, about a tutor. You've been in Spanish 1 for a very long time now and you're a Junior. This isn't a good look. I think you-" He was cut off by someone coming into the classroom.

"Sorry, I'm late Mr. Martinez." I turned around to see who it was and my jaw dropped

"Hola Gabriel!" Mr. Martinez said and waved.

"Violet?" Gabe said and dropped his backpack on one of the desks. I grinned at him and he nodded his head.

"So, you two know each other! That's great! Well, Violet, Gabe will be your Spanish tutor."

"He's my Spanish tutor?!" I said and laughed. "Are you serious?"

Gabe glared at me. "I mean no offense or anything, but seriously?" I yelled.

"Ms. Rose, Gabe is one of my best students. He could really help you. I don't see why there's a problem." He walked around and sat down at his desk. "You two can figure out when you could get together. Adios, and enjoy your lunch. See you in class Ms. Rose." I grunted and walked out of the classroom. I tried to speed walk to the cafeteria but the hallway was crowded and Gabe kept calling my name. I wanted to be alone and I just didn't want my D in Spanish. But I also didn't want the kid I'm tutoring to be my tutor, or the kid who threatened to beat me up to be my tutor.

"Violet, wait!" He said running behind me.

"What?! What do you want?!" I screamed turning around.

"Why are you so upset about me being your tutor? I didn't get this upset when I found out you were my tutor." He said in an angry tone. I remember yesterday how he had me in his grip and I got lost in his eyes. I felt myself doing it again and I had lost my train of thought. He was waiting for a reply.

"Well I didn't try to beat you up now did I?" I turned to walk away but he kept talking.

"I thought I apologized." He yelled and grabbed my hand. I looked at him and he let go. "Look, I want a good grade in Algebra and I know you want a good grade in Spanish so if we could stop being so angry at each other this might work." He yelled and I noticed that we caught everyone's attention in the hallway. We looked around as everyone looked at us arguing. I walked away and made sure I got lost in the crowd so that he couldn't follow behind me.
