Dear whomever this may concern,

I had to see my mom today.

But she wasn't smiling down at me with that quirk to her lip.

Her mouth was set in a straight line and her rosy cheeks were pale.

I don't like seeing her like this.

I don't like talking about how great she was, when she can't hear me herself.

I don't like having to see her name on a stone that she would forever be laying under.

I didn't like it.

Your acquaintance,

Kaya
