Chapter 31

November 14,2011

*Ariana*

I scrambled to my feet and jumped up into my brothers arms. "FRANKIE!"

He has been gone since he was twenty three and lived his own life. That's when the abuse from my mother started and sometimes I blamed him but at the moment I'm happy to see him.

"Frankie what are you doing here?" I asked pulling out of the hug.

"I'm here to see my sister, mother and father." He replied.

My mom and dad had got back together a few months after I was released from the hospital. But after I landed my job with Nick and healed from the flashbacks of the car accident they left to spend sometime in Paris. They've been there for quite sometime now patching up the torn relationship they had eight years ago. I'm fine with their decision to get back together and they call to check up on me from time to time. They promised that they would be home soon but I don't pressure them to do so. I'm doing fine on my own.

"Ariana?" Frankie snapped his fingers in my face.

"Oh right. Well mom and dad are in Paris fixing what they once had and In here alone at the moment. Well Jai sleeps over sometimes but yeah." I explained rubbing the back of my neck.

"Oh. Okay." He set down his bags that I did not acknowledge until now.

"Well how was um New York?" I asked him.

"It was amazing. I always talked about being on Broadway and well yeah it just happened. I did a lot while I was there and I don't regret it." He said without hesitation.

I was offended by his choice of words. He didn't regret leaving me to my mother who was in no condition to take care of me. He didn't regret leaving me with a mother who was already miserable and only behaved when he was around. He didn't regret any of it.

"So you didn't regret leaving me behind. Not calling once just to check how I was doing, if I needed something or to check up on moms life. You didn't think about what mom did to me after you left." I said my voice raising a bit.

"Ariana-." He started but I silenced him with my hand and continued.

"She abused me until I decided to try and get her help. I used all the money I saved and got her the help she needed for her alcoholic issues while you were out there doing your own shit. I suffered through the beatings, bullying, and all the no support that you didn't have to go through. I almost died twice! Twice! And one of them was on purpose. I wanted to end my life to stop breathing, to just lay in my bed with my funeral dress and die. I wanted that." I felt tears starting to fall from my blurry eyes.

"I tried so hard to push through and I did it. You don't understand what the hell it was like to not have you here. You were twenty three when you left me and mom. Now your twenty nine. You left me six years ago and haven't bothered to contact me. I was on my own trying to make something of myself and you know who helped me Elizabeth. She helped me push through and we both landed a job on Nick. I did it on my own and I thank you for leaving me because then I would be who I am today, but don't you dare say that you have no regrets when you left me behind." I spoke sternly.

I was full on balling now. I could feel the heat on my face and the number of tears that were falling from my eyes all at once were too many to count. I looked up to see Frankie with tears streaming down his face too and I just leaned in and hugged him.

"I'm sorry Ariana. I really am." He choked out.

I nodded and rubbed circles in the center of his back to assure him that its okay. I'm angry but not because of what he did but because his choice of words. It made it seemed as if he didn't care about me or our mother. I pulled away and wiped the my tears off with my palms and Frankie did the same. I smiled and he returned the favor and that's when we decided to grab two tubs of ice cream and a movie.
