New Me

Christian's perspective (part 1)

6 months earlier:

I was driving to the safe house as a call appeared from Dan, my right hand.

"Christian here!" I say as I pick up."

"Christian! There was an explosion! A lot of innocent people are injured."

"You know we help people and all, but why would you think that is my damn business?" I ask very curious, because there was something that needed my attention, apparently."

"This is your damn business..."he starts to say, obviously pissed"because the bomb was full with genetically changed molecular cells. The bomb was put there on purpose, Christian. And we think that it was The Red Scorpions'hand." 

"Be there in 10 minutes. Tell Robert to put the coordinates in my GPS." I say quickly, before I hang up. How could they put a bomb? And in the middle of the city. Usually The Red Scorpions are subtle and unobserved, but now they obviously don't care about that. They needed more than anything, more than their cover to put that bomb, but why? Why?

10 minutes later I am in front of the destroyed building. "There you are!" I hear Dan shouting from my back."Come on! Monica is already in. She is already expecting us."

"Alright then!"I say as I enter the ruined building. Apparently we are the first ones to enter, cause despite the fact that there was an explosion in the east part of the city, it is early in the morning so most of the people aren't awake. As I enter I still can see the expensive flooring that was half ruined by the explosion. The paintings burned, some of them literally blown up and the ceiling, well what was left of it was so damaged that if you would throw a rock at it, than it would ruin all that was left after the explosion, so me and my people took a lot of the risk to come here.

"What we have here, Monica?" I say as quickly as I enter the room, without  even greeting, but all my men are already used to my 'behavior'.

"Hey, boss! So there was something very weird going on. As you can see the most expensive families in the city were here, at this meeting, together with their kids. Something normal if you ask me, but all the normality ends right at that corner " she says as she shows me the door "cause after all are gathered here, the bomb starts ticking. Robert helped me about the bomb and the footage videos in this night. Apparently after the first person entered the room, there were 20 minutes and then BUM... Enough time for all the people to come and sit nice so all would be affected or worse. " says Monica as she finally starts to understand that some people are THAT cruel.

"Stop a second Monica! We are talking about a nuclear bomb here... how could they be affected and not dead?"I say curious as I move my hands around the room showing the bodies which surrounded us.

"Wanna tell something, boss?" she says with a brow raised and a little smile on her face. "They are not dead!" she says, then a full silence visited the room, leaving her words make their effect.

"Well not all of them, actually. Some of them... 90% of them survived... lucky, but I don't understand how. I need to have time with the bomb and see what I can find, but if you ask me, there was no accident. And something smells naughty here, besides..."

Her words were interrupted by a small voice"Ouch!" and a lot of pant. As I heard that my look went straight to a young miss. She was actually in front of us, which meant that at the explosion she would be dead... She needed to be dead... I run to her, as Dan calls the medics from the safe house... "Shh... calm down... everything is alright, piccolo fuoco!".

5 minutes later, 5 vans loaded the injured ones, as we left the dead bodies at the ruined building, so the press tomorrow would think that all the people left there died in the accident, or so not an accident.

As me, Dan, Robert and Monica  left the place behind the vans, a dead silence was present. I could saw Monica thinking deeply and for the first time, I couldn't understand what  was happening. Everything was new and odd, as we were in a dark mystery. 

What happened exactly in the explosion? Who put the bomb there? Why would put they yhe bomb? Did they know that there could be survivors? Did this mean that The Red Scorpions wanted a war? And the thing that scared Christian the most was that he knew the answer was YES. Then what was he gonna do next? Apparently this was their first move...Then the next question was... What would be his next move ?
