Before It All Happened

Once upon a time, there lived a civilized world underwater. It was run by a Mermaid Monarchy the Altean Kingdom and it was ruled by King Alois, his wife Queen Elizabeth and there 3 children, Prince Noah (Oldest) Princess Scarlet (Second Oldest), and Prince Sam (Youngest). They all lived a peaceful life until one day humans invaded their lands. They first started by building roads and cities on the nearby Islands. Then they started to fish close by where the Altean kingdom was located.   

        "We need to be cautious, we don't know what the humans could do to us if they were too Capture One of Us." Said, Queen Elizabeth. "So from now, no one is allowed access to go above water or near the islands." Stated  King Alois.

Princess Scarlet did not agree with the new rules. She always loved to go near the islands where she would visit her special friend Coffee. Coffee was a bottlenose dolphin. But what made her special to Scarlet was that she had a heart-shaped mark in the middle of her forehead the same mark that Scarlet had in her right hand.

Plus Scarlet had noticed that it had already been a year without seeing Coffee. Thanks to the rules she was sure she would never see her again. ~Tonight I will sneak out with no one noticing that I ever left~ Scarlet thought to herself, "I can't wait to see coffee again" She said in a sneaky voice. In the meantime, Scarlet went over to her youngest brother Sam to help him with his homework.

"Ok, Sam if I have 5 seashells and you give me 10 more how many seashells would I have," said Scarlet. " well ... You would have 15 seashells" said Sam. "That is correct Sam, but how did you find that answer?" questioned Scarlet. "5+10=15,"  said Sam proudly. "Good."

Time passed and it was finally dinner time, Sam and Scarlet were starving from doing so much homework. They both rushed to the dining hall when they open the doors they saw a beautifully decorated table with silver plates and super shiny silverware and in the middle of the table was an amazing assortment of flowers, seashells, and coral. They both went and sat down.     

    Through the doors  came in Noah the oldest son. "where have you two been?" Said Noah. "We were doing my homework," said Sam. "Wait you were being helped by Scarlet!? She is the dumbest person in all the seven seas. You probably got everything wrong." Said Noah sarcastically. "Look hows talking, you've never done a peace homework in your entire life. So shut up wannabe smart ass" said Scarlet angrily. "Chill it was just a joke," said Noah with a smirk. "Just like your life," said Scarlet smiling. "Haha," said Sam laughing. 

After a while the dining room doors open again, this time it was the King and Queen they both went and sat down. "What's so funny Sam," said the King. "Nothing it's just that Scarlet told off Noah," said Sam still laughing. "Scarlet how many times have we told you to stop fighting with Noah?" Said the Queen. "I wasn't fighting I was just telling the truth. Plus he started it" said Scarlet with a smirk. "Hey!" Said Noah angrily. 

They both stopped arguing when the food finally arrived, they were served different variations of sushi. They were all different some were red, pink, blue, and some white. They were all wrapped around green seaweed and decorated with different vegetations that made them so appetizing your mouth gets watery just by looking at them. After dinner came Everybodys favorite, ฯDessertฯ. They were are all served small shell-shaped macaroons and a beautiful and sweet tiramisu. After dinner, everyone was stuffed. They all headed to there rooms and that's when Scarlet's plan came into action.

She first checked if no one was in the hallway then she locked her bedroom door and opened the window. Second, she checked if the guards were not looking and then she swam out the window and unlocked it. Third, she had to get out through the Kingdom's gate. They've always been locked since the humans came, but lucky for Scarlet there's always a guard in front of the gate and around this time he falls asleep. As quiet as possible she sneaks her way closer to the sleeping guard, she checks if he has the keys but it turned out the Keys weren't on him. Scarlet started to freak out because if she didn't find the keys she wouldn't be able to see Coffee and she would have to go back to her room and it was too late for that. Then she looked at a small round shaped table that was next to the guard and on the table was a small Green Box with a few pearls on it. She quietly opens the box and for her surprise, the keys were in there.

Finally, she opens the gate and swam as fast as she could she was overwhelmed with emotions of finally going seeing her friend. When she got to the Island were Coffee lived in, she started to look for her.

"Coffee, Coffee it's me Scarlet I came to visit you since we haven't seen each other in forever," said, Scarlet. She waited for a response and she heard nothing. "Coffee!, Coffee! where are you!" Said Scarlet now getting worried.

She then heard a noise but it wasn't a happy noise more of a distressed single. She started to swim closer to where the noises were coming from then she swam up to the surface and saw something so horrific she couldn't believe her eyes. She saw her best friend in a net and being dragged on to a human fishing boat. "Coffee!, don't take her away from you humans!" Scarlet said screaming.

The fisherman dragged Coffee on to the ship and then heard Scarlets screaming. They saw her and hurried to get a net they threw it on her. Scarlet's tail then got tangled in it. "Get this off me!" Said Scarlet trying to get untangled. The fisherman pulled her up on to the boat and set her next to Coffee. "Coffee are you ok did they hurt you?" Said Scarlet in a worried voice.

Coffee looked ok she had a few scratches but nothing very serious. "Look what we have here," said one of the fisherman. "what are you planning to do with us," said, Scarlet. "Sell you of course," said one. "you can't even imagine how much money we're going to earn thanks to you," said another.

"Why would you want to sell me?" Said Scarlet in a scared voice. "Cuz look at you-you're a monster people would pay good money to see you freak," Said the fisherman. "I'm the monster!?  I'm not the one who captured two innocent creatures. And is now going to sell them to earn some freaking money!!" Said, Scarlet. "Whatever! Hey man shut her up would you" said one fisherman. "sure. I'ma tranquilizer her as well" said the other.

The fisherman then tapes Scarlett's mouth closed and tranquilizer her. Everything started to go blurry for Scarlett she couldn't feel her tail then she couldn't feel her arms and then her neck and all the way up to her head when she fell in a deep sleep. The fisherman started to sail away back to the islands where they were now going to sell off Scarlet and Coffee. And the thing that Scarlet kept in her head before she fell asleep was~no one knows where I am and no one can help me. will this be how I die? Help me!
