2 months later:
Percy and Annabeth moved to the apartment that had been attacked during Athena's trials. They had left Camp Half Blood and settled into this home a month after Athena had given up on testing Percy.
"You know Athena made me watch some of the trials that I wasn't involved in," Annabeth said one night as she and Percy were eating pizza on their new couch.
"And?" Percy gobbled down another slice of pizza, red sauce dripping down his chin. Annabeth leaned forward and flicked off the substance from his chin with her thumb. "Thanks," he said.
She nodded her head. "I'm so happy that I have you." Annabeth looked up at the ceiling. "I don't know any guys who would go through that."
"Well..." Percy said, clearly trying to act humble. "Would you say it was pretty heroic of me?"
"Percy!" Annabeth threw the TV remote at him. He laughed and caught it before it hit him in the forehead.
"What? I already picture the headline 'Percy Saves Annabeth from Mother. A Horror Story.'" Percy theatrically placed his hands in the air to emphasize each word.
"You," she pointed at him, "are unbearable."
Percy winked at her. "Always."

I mentioned at the beginning of this story that there were two types of couples and that Percy and I were the type that truly loved each other. We didn't stay together for a title, or together because of the burden of our past holding us. We both did stay together because we were the only ones who understood each other. Understood the pain of Tartarus, the hardships of being demigods.
I also wrote this, in part, to warn other children of Athena to beware. Beware of her intervention when she apparently can't find anything else to do.
But also appreciate it. If the guy or the girl doesn't stick, then it wasn't meant to be. It seems that our parents may have the right motivations—meaning us, and our happiness—when it comes to their insufferable parental approval.
