The day before my 18th birthday, I was in a room with my friends and they asked me to write what I wanted for my 18 birthday. I have so much in mind. I want a new camera so I wrote it but I remembered I also wanted a new pair of shoes so I marked out the camera and wrote shoes. I was to give the paper when I pulled it back the moment I remembered what I've actually wanted but I, them and even no one can ever give to me. I started to feel another pain in the chest. The ones I've felt before. I know it's too late or should I say it's worthless to write it down but I miss him so much that he could just be the best gift I could ever wish in my whole life.
After I've written what I want, I handed it over to them specifically to Janice. I looked at her and I know she wondered why my eyes looks so sad. I smiled but it made my tears fall down. I miss him so much. His name are like my favorite chocolates that with every single piece it can make my day. He is Janice's bestfriend. I immediately wiped off the those tears and smiled again.
She opened the paper and she looked again at me. I know I look hopeless but that's what I really want. She stood and sat next to me. With her presence, it made me more emotional and I started to cry. Before, he supposed to sit in front of me, facing me and showing his smiles. Saying how gratetful he is in every day that he met me. I would just laught about it and hug him tight telling him back that I'm the one thankful that he's there for me.
'Hey! Ah-I never thought that you really miss him.', Janice told me. After he died, I told myself that I would never be crying anymore and I wont show anyone how sad I am. For two years, I did that but on for that day, I can't stop my feelings anymore. All those pain I've been hiding in front of everyone were slowly revealed.
'I miss him. So much.', I've said those words and it made me cry harder. She hugged and told me something.
'He told me before that I should hug you everytime you cry because of him and if ever that time happens, I should arrange a blind date for you. '
I looked at her with my eyes telling how pissing that guy is for even saying those things.
'Yeah, that stupid guy.'
I fixed myself while slightly slapping my face. I should not cry because of sadness, I told him that.
They brought back the topic regarding my birthday celebration that all they could serve was a cake, a candle and some drinks. I just laughed and told them that everything is fine and what's with that telling me what's gonna happen on my birthday when it is supposed to be a surprise.
After the conversations and fun they all went home. I was again left in my room and picked up all the garbages they made. I'm used to them making my clean room into a big mess.
That night I really can't sleep. The next day would be my big day but I decided to celebrate it as simple as possible. I've requested to my parents that I would be out the whole morning and by the afternoon, I'll celebrate with them. I knew it's a selfish request since my 18th birthday isn't all just about myself but also being grateful to my family for the whole 18 years. I've thought I would hear them disagree but they imediately said yes and told me that I should spend the day the way I wanted to.
In that very silent night, I was only thinking of him. I remembered the time he told my parents, out of the blue while we're having dinner that he wanted to be my first and second to the last dance at my 18th birthday. During that time, we're still building our relationship so for the whole time I was blushing and everyone in the family we're laughing. He's just simply smiling but I can see that he's more than happy to see my parents approved his request.
Again I felt a drop of water to my hand. I was crying again and I can't stop it. Everything about him flashedbacked in an instant to my mind and heart.
