Today was a special day, especially for Chip the rabbit.
It was three thirty in the morning, Easter Sunday. He woke up and swung his feet off the left side of the bed onto the brown fluffy carpet. The rabbit slipped on his cherry-red, soft, comfy slippers which were shaped like a rabbit's face with long ears sticking up, pointing to the ceiling. Chip rose up and stretched his arms up and yawned, like a dog which had just came back from a very long walk.
"Aawwww, Easter." He said with a huge smile on his face. "My favourite day of the year has arrived."
Chip hopped to the refrigerator and pulled open the door.
"I need something nice for breakfast which will start my journey." Chip said. He looked first at the top shelf where sat four Easter bunnies wrapped up in gold paper with red ribbon around their necks and a bell attached to the centre of the red collar. On the middle shelf there were about a dozen multiple coloured eggs in a neatly handmade basket, next to them was an unwrapped chocolate chick. On the bottom shelf sat a tiny, lonely pink shelled egg. He looked on the inside of the fridge's door and there facing him was a four pint of milk and beside it was a chocolate milkshake. Chip grabbed the milkshake and one of the little bunnies, then shut the door. The rabbit unwrapped the shiny gold paper off the bunny, then he threw the paper over his shoulder which bounced off the wall and into the bin. He bit off the ears of the chocolate bunny first, It wasn't like ordinary chocolate, it was different. It tasted like little drops of heaven, so light it makes you feel like you're up on cloud nine. Chip was now excited and he shoved the whole thing in his mouth. He picked up the chocolate milkshake off the kitchen work top and shook it enthusiastically, unscrewed the top and poured the drink down his throat.
After breakfast, he put on his colourful shorts, the same colours which match Joseph's amazing Technicolor Dream coat from one of the stories in the bible. He took out his rounded brush and worked it through his knotted brown fur, then he pulled down his ears separately and brushed them.
By the door there was a handmade basket with loads of boxed Easter eggs, ready to be delivered to all of the small children in the village. Chip skipped to the door, and picked up the basket.
Outside of the door there was a yellow path leading to the village, it was like the yellow brick road from Alice in Wonder Land.
He hopped and hopped all the way singing freely and jubilantly.
He sang and sang for fifteen minutes until he arrived in the village.
The place was lit up with colourful, beautiful lights, it was like a small city clouded over by different coloured fireflies. The first house he came to was rather small, he took out a boxed chocolate Easter egg and left it on the doorstep with a handmade card wishing them a happy Easter. He repeated this routine for fifty-four more homes.
When he arrived at the last house with one egg and a card left, before he put it down the lights came on. He turned around to make a run for it, but this small sweet voice caught his attention.
"Ar.... ar.... Are you the Easter bunny?" a sweet female voiced ask.
Chip thought anxiously what to do. He turned around holding his empty basket. The little girl stared at him bewilderedly.
"Well, yes I am." He replied with a joyful smile on his face, trying not to show any signs of fear or anxiety. He thought the blond haired little girl would scream and wake up the whole neighbourhood, but she didn't. Instead, a smile slowly crept up on her face. She had never seen a large talking bunny before.
She looked at the door step and saw an Easter egg and a card.
"Is that for me?" She asked politely, then looked upward. But Chip was gone. The little girl opened the card, it read:
Happy Easter.
A picture of a tiny bunny was next to the message. The End.
