"Sophia, I'm sorry but we are shutting down," said Charles.

"Charlie, please you know how hard I worked to get this position!"

"I know Saf, but you know it's not up to me,"

"Alright fine," Sophia grumbled.

She grabbed her laptop and the only thing she ever kept on her desk, her small box of chocolate that her ex-boyfriend gave her. She was still deciding whether or not to eat it.

It was a rainy day, the Seattle usual. Sophia sat down on the wet bench, out in the open, waiting for her bus to come. Her perfectly straightened hair became curly. Just when Sophia was about to call an Uber, the bus came. She sat down and waited for her stop. She blankly stared out of the window, watching the same route she saw every day. The next stop. She watched how the passengers began to load. The last person to load was a woman who walked on carrying a box full of junk. At first, Sophia didn't think anything of these people and didn't think anyone would sit next to her beside there were so many empty spots available. Until that lady carrying all that junk sat next to her.

"What a DAY,"

Sophia stared at her

"How was your day?"

"Um, I got laid off?"

"Wow, I got fired. Well at least being fired is worse than being laid off,"

Sophia shrugged "I guess,"

The lady shook her box, "This is all of my junk from my cubicle, even I didn't know I had so much stuff,"

Sophia pulled out her small box of chocolates.

"I got this from my ex. I'm still debating whether or not I should eat it,"

"Hear honey lemme handle this," She said with her hand out.

Sophia handed her the box, and she threw it at another passenger. When the passenger looked up she yelled: "YOU LOOK LIKE YOU NEEDED SOME LOVE!"

Sophia was speechless. "Wh-why'd you do that?"

"Honey you need to get over him. If he really loved you he would have treated you better,"

Sophia's mouth curled. She was right. This random stranger just made her day. She put her hand out.

"Hi, I'm Sophia."

"Aye, I'm Tasha,"

And that how their friendship began.
