"Oh sweetie! Are you sure you're ok with not going?" My mother yelled over the loud airport, as Carlos handed me my luggage.

Carlos is my mothers husband.

Of two days.

She's thirty-five.

He's twenty-three.

I mean how gross is that?

I sighed. "You've asked me six times since we left the house Mother. You need to go with your," I shoot Carlos a glare. "Husband."

I yanked my suitcase out of his grip. I could hear my mothers sigh faintly over the lively sound of the airport, filled with crying children flying to Disney world, millennials flying to a new resort or something, and old men in suits. Ya know, the works.

"Well sweetie... I won't be gone long! It's only for a few months and then I'll be there to get you in Cali!" She squealed.

I felt bad for being so rude to my mother, I mean she gave birth to me young. So she never got to experience her early twenties.. only having me when she was 19. Even with that knowledge, she shouldn't be choosing a man over her child.

"Ok honey.. call me if anything happens! Oh and make sure that you tell your father that his slut of a wife is no match to me." She said while throwing her blonde, (fake) hair over her shoulder.

I rolled my eyes at her immaturity. She a thirty five year old women and she's going to pretend she's thirteen year old petty teen. Sue me for not exactly liking her right now.

'My mother wasn't always like this.' I thought while dragging my suitcase through security. 'She used to be a sweet women that put me before everyone. I was her everything until Carlos.'

"Excuse me ma'am, you forgot your shoes!" I snap out of my thoughts and look up at a dark haired women in a security uniform.

"Oh yeah sorry thanks!" I say to her and grab my shoes from her fingers.

Hours had passed.

Or that's how it felt.

I pushed my hair behind my ear, annoyed with my recent haircut, my light brown wavy hair now hit to my shoulders instead of mid chest. Per request of my Mother.

I heard my flight called on the intercom and sighed.

There's no going back now.

Goodbye Houston.

For now.

Sorry it was so short my lovelies :///
