"Then that's what I'm gonna do! I'm gonna be a champ!" Ash exclaimed.
Meanwhile, Ruins of Hope, Poni island.
"I, Tapu Fini, the Guardian Deity of Poni Island, selects Hapu as the next Poni island Kahuna."
"I am honoured. I will do everything I can as a Kahuna." Hapu, a not-so-tall girl said as she accepted Tapu Fini's offer.
The second day, back at the Pokemon School.
"Big news! Tapu Fini selected a Kahuna just last night!" Professor Kukui announced.
"So that means..." Ash said.
"Yes! You'll have to battle another trial and grand trial in order to participate in the Pokemon League. And from what I've heard, the trial captain specializes in fairy-types, as the Kahuna specializes in ground types." Kukui replied.
"Awesome! I'm going now!" Ash exclaimed.
"Can I go with him please?" Kiawe asked.
Timeskip, Ash is on Poni island, and have finished his trial.
"That trial captain... Mina, was it? She told me that Poipole is sad. I wonder why..." Ash murmured to himself. Then, without noticing, he bumped into someone on a Mudsdale.
"Sorry! I wasn't looking!" Ash apologized.
"It's fine! You're from Melemele, and you want to participate in Poni island's grand trial, correct?" the feminine voice said.
"Yeah... how did you know I'm from Melemele?"
"You realize you have a keychain saying 'Melemele Challenger'?"
"Oh... heh, forgot about that. Speaking of which, do you know where the Kahuna is?"
"The Kahuna? 3 steps in my direction."
"3 steps... wait! You mean you're the Kahuna?" Ash said once again in his dense tone.
"So you did figure it out! Anyways, meet me at dusk, at the Ruins of Hope. By the way, my name's Hapu." Hapu said, trotting away on her Mudsdale.
Timeskip once again, at the Ruins of Hope, after Ash and Hapu praised to Tapu Fini.
"So! Shall we begin?" Hapu asked.
"Yes! Let's start already! I'll be the referee!" Kiawe replied before Ash could say anything.
Challenger Ash vs. Kahuna Hapu!
"This will be a three-on-three battle! Whoever runs out of battle-able Pokemon first loses!" Kiawe advised from the side.
"Go Dugtrio!" Hapu chose a Dugtrio.
"Torracat, I choose you!" Ash threw out the Pokeball containing Torracat.
"Dugtrio, sandstorm!" Hapu commanded. "Dug (kay!)"
"Torracat! Ember to cancel the sandstorm, then get in there and use slash!" Ash replied.
The Pokemon did their jobs, and Torracat landed a hit on Dugtrio.
"Awesome! Now, Fire Fang!" Ash commanded.
"Dodge it!"
Ash grinned. He was expecting that. "Now Torracat, Flame Charge!"
"Cancel with Sucker Punch!"
"Stop using Flame Charge and grab it!"
Dugtrio successfully landed its Sucker Punch but was grasped in Torracat's claws.
"Use Revenge!" Ash said, grinning.
The dust cleared, revealing a K.O. Dugtrio.
"Dugtrio is unable to battle! Ash gets the first win!"
"Go Gastrodon!" Hapu chose her second Pokemon.
"Torracat! You okay?" "Torra! (I'm fine!)"
"Gastrodon, Muddy Water!"
A wave of swampy liquid flowed over Torracat's body. The waves settled.
"Torracat is unable to battle! Both trainers are down to two Pokemon!"
"Pikachu, you're up!" "Pika! (Finally!)"
"Now, Pikachu, Electroweb!"
Gastrodon tried to dodge, but it's too slow. It got trapped in the web.
"Finish it with Thunderbolt!"
The dust settled. Kiawe announced another K.O.
"Here's my big hitter: Mudsdale!" Hapu said with a determined look.
"Now, Mudsdale, Earthquake!"
The ground began to shake, as Pikachu found it difficult to stay still.
"And finish it with High Horsepower!"
Once again, Kiawe announced another K.O.
"Should I use Jirachi now? I don't want to reveal it so soon... but I don't have another Pokemon at a type advantage... Rowlet? He's not trained enough... should I?" Ash thought to himself.
"Okay... Rowlet, I choose you!"
And that's today's chapter! It has been decided: the reader @RickymonGaming spoketh, and the author writeth! Therefore, Ash got his battle against Hapu! At least most of it...
Another thing is I will be skipping unnecessary parts like "Take a good rest" "Nice job, buddy" to conserve space and time.
And since today's the book's grand opening, I published four chapters at once! Whoo!
