I run my fingers through Bella's hair while she is cuddled up to me. Ever since I had taken her, she's been attached to me ever since. Its been four years since I had attacked her old pack, and had found my mate.

At first, I had my doubts on leaving him. Then I had to think about Bella, I have too many enemies and I didn't want her to be put in danger. So, she's been a secret ever since I've found her. Only my most trusted guards know, and I'd like to keep it that way.

I had a witch come over before I had purchased the castle. She had done a circle around the perimeter of the building, so from the outside it looks like a normal friendly house.

No one is allowed to step into the perimeter without my permission. Only humans can pass through, though I doubt anyone would want to be this deep into the woods.

And that beta, I already have my guards lined up outside on the border of the gates.

I am a hybrid, but if I try to turn someone they'll die because their body can't take my blood.

My mom was a vampire, while my dad was a werewolf. They 'mated' and had me. It's rare for someone like me to even be alive. My father's mate had died on a rogue attack, but then met my mother. They fell in love of course.

But an alpha had caught some news of a blood sucker and a werewolf in love, the alpha wasn't too happy about it. Considering wolves and vampires don't get along too well.

The alpha had killed my mother, and not long after my father committed scuicide. He couldn't take the pain of my mother's death, because his mate had died then the love of his life.

Even though I was mad at him after he had done it, I understood after a while. I don't blame him.

When they were alive, they were so in love. After they had passed, I had missed the feeling of love.

'They're here.' I hear one of my guards say in the mind link.

'I'm coming, don't attack yet.' I reply.

I carefully tuck Bella in bed, then walk outside.

I watch as one of the other pack members' try to claw at one of my guards. I growl loudly and in a flash, I'm choking the little wolf.

I throw the girl to the ground amd laugh, other growls can be heard when I do so. I watch as it runs towards someone, also looking back if I'm following.

I see some wolves scattered around in their human form, and some not. I hear a howl in the distance, and loud thumps on the ground.

I watch as a big black wolf runs to me, excitedly.

I curse under my breath, not expecting my mate to be the alpha that had warned me. I turn swiftly, making my mate crash into one of the trees.

It whimpers, and I sigh walking to the alpha. I hear growls behind me, but I reply by growling loudly.

I bend on my knees and start to pet the wolf, in response it leans into my touch.

"You idiot, you should've been looking where you were going." I chuckle and kiss the top of my mate's head. In the corner of my eyes, I see the beta from before with it's mouth open.

"Close your mouth beta, you look stupid." I stand up and walk back to one my guards.

'No fighting today, go back inside the castle and be with your mates.' I mind link all of them.

Mason answers back, 'Are you sure, Ember?'

'Yes, now leave.' I roll my eyes at him.

Mason comes over to me, and hugs me tight like if he's afraid to let go. "Don't worry little brother, I'll be fine." I pat his back and make him go.

He's the youngest in my 'group', with no mate. We are very close, we treat each other like family. I treat my group like family.

I hear a growl from my mate, but I choose to ignore it. I turn around and see some shocked faces, but others are growling at me or bowing their heads.

I laugh while shaking my head.

Turning to my mate, I see he had shifted back but had kept his head down.

He falls to the ground on his knees, shaking his head.

"What's wrong, mate?" I question.

"I can't believe I have a second chance mate." He whispers out, I laugh again but louder.

"I'm not your second chance, alpha." I snicker.

"What?" He looks up in confusion.

"I said I'm not your second chance mate, I'm your real mate idiot." I reply with a shrug of my shoulders.

"But how?" My mate questions me with tears in his eyes.

"Oh baby, I had already known that you had been my mate for years now. I set up that dead she wolfs body, she was never your real mate. Now don't go crying on me now." I smirk and pat the top of his head.

One of his warriors growl at me, I growl back with more power. "Don't even try me, I could rip your head off in a second."

"You gave me so much pain." My mate whimpers and shoves me to him, his face in my neck.

"And yet, and I can give you so much love." I whisper and smirk.
