I woke up half an hour ago and I've finally plucked up the courage to haul myself out of bed. I run downstairs to have breakfast with my haphazard family.
"Tommy! Go! Get out, you're going to be late for college!" My mum shouts to my older brother.
"But it's college, who cares?!" He retorts, although he is making his way out of the door.
"Bye, Cassie!" He shouts over his shoulder.
"Bye, Tommy!" I call back, my brother and I have a relationship were we protect each other no matter what.
"Are you going to eat, Cassie?" My dad asks once I've been sitting down for a while.
"Yes, can you make me crumpets please?" I ask and fifteen minutes later, I've eaten and I'm ready to shower.
I run back up the stairs, which wasn't a good idea because although I'm quite thin, I don't do much exercise.
I get a towel from the airing cupboard and get undressed. I wrap a towel around me and walk to the bathroom.
Once I'm there, I drop my towel and step into the shower. I turn it on and start washing my hair.
As I finish rinsing the shampoo out of my hair, I hear a voice, "Hello? I know you're in there! Hey!"
I can't help it, but I scream. What is going on?
"Cassie?!" My dad shouts. I didn't mean to worry them, but there could possibly be an intruder in our house.
"Nothing, dad! Just a spider! It's gone now!" I call back.
"Look down and to your left! There's a little hole! I'm in there!" Someone exclaims.
"What?" I lower myself, holding the shower curtain around me and look through the hole. I see another eye looking back at me. Thank god, it's my neighbour and they're human.
"Hello!" He says, cheerfully. We've never spoken two words to each other before, so I honestly don't know what possessed him to do this.
"What could be so important that you have to interrupt my shower?" I snap, thinking that he could have seen me naked.
"I couldn't see past your legs, don't worry! I'm Ethan." He informs me.
"Right, because knowing your name makes this whole situation better!" I reply.
"What's your name?" He asks me. I might as well tell him, he's probably seen me naked already.
"Cassie. Now, please leave before I phone the police!" I say. I know he's in his own house, but I still don't think this is right.
"Okay, okay! I'm going! Until next time, Cassie." He says, before disappearing from the hole.
