At lunchtime, Sugino's mood still hadn't improved. He was shoving food into his mouth, but he still had this blank stare plastered on his face. It seemed like he was still upset about not being able to kill Koro Sensei.
You could see Nagisa fiddling his fingers, stealing a glance at his sad friend every few seconds, contemplating whether to talk to him or not. Just as he was gathering up his courage to speak, Koro sensei walked up to the three of you.
"Sugino, I hate to see you in such a bad mood." The octupus shook his head and rested a hand on the boy's shoulder. "Let me tell you, you are great at baseball-"
"But obviously not good enough." Sugino muttered darkly.
Koro sensei thought for a moment, then slowly reached out a tentacle and wrapped it gently around Sugino's wrist. "Let's just say you were lacking some skills. Were you trying to imitate a certain baseball star?"
Hearing this, Sugino's jead immediately shot up as he looked at the teacher, surprise showing in his eyes. "How did you-"
"Nurfufufu, never mind that, but you should know that not everyone can throw like that. Look at you." He moved the boy's wrist up and down. "Your wrist is much more flexible. You could throw better if you use this to your advantage."
The black haired boy looked thoughtful for a few minutes, then he reached in his pockets and pulled out a ball. You watched as Koro sensei helped him adjust his position, then told him to throw.
Sugino drew his hand back and threw in one swift movement that was so fast it made your eyes blurr. The small white baseball whooshed through the air even faster than before, then fell to the ground with a dull thud.
"That. Was. Amazing." You whispered. Sugino stared in wonder at his own hands, disbelief showing on his face. Then he broke into a smile and punched the air, yelling triumphantly.
"Koro sensei, did you see that?" The boy was grinning excitedly, pointing at the ball that landed far away. "That was a miracle!! Can you help me practice more?"
"Of course, Sugino." Koro sensei smiled warmly.
All the worry in your heart was suddenly gone as you watched your friend and Koro sensei talking excitedly, smiling a lot more. You looked at Nagisa and he gave you a thumbs up sign.
"Looks like he's back to normal again."
A/N: I am so, so sorry for this super late update!! Many of you probably thought I discontinued this fanfic but no!! It's just that I got really carried away.
I don't know why, but for the past months I've been feeling strangely depressed and I've only told a few friends about it. I keep having these panic attacks when I'm just overwhelmed and burst into tears. With that happening, I just didn't find have
the energy to continue this. And though this condition still hasn't improved, I got some comments saying that people loved this fic and wanted me to continue it. Honestly it made my day and I decided to try to write a few chapters. Thank you for all your support and I'll keep updating!!
