derry, maine.
emma hill's house.
6:09 PM.
JUNE 1989.

"this bitch better open up." i muttered, knocking on the door.

the rest of the losers club waited behind me as i waited.

the door slightly opened and emma's head popped out. "y/n?"

"hi. let's go."

"what? where are we going?"

"biking. might go back to the quarry. bowers gang is leaving us alone for now."

"us?"

"oh yeah. losers!"

everyone looked as i pulled emma out.

"this is emma. be nice to her or face mine and bowers' wrath."

everyone greeted her. she gave a small wave, smiling. everyone went back to what they were doing.

she grabbed my ear pulling it closer to her mouth.

"ow! what the fuck!"

"you know about my thing for stanley. why would you do this to me?"

i pulled away as she let go of my ear.

"this could be your chance to tell him. thank me later."

emma and i hopped on our bikes.

"where to?" i asked, grinning.

"we were gonna swim in the quarry. should we still go?" mike asked.

"sure!" i said.

emma nodded and everyone else agreed.

riding with everyone was probably my current most favorite thing to do.

bill and i rode next to each other with everyone behind us.

we got there and everyone was on the edge waiting for the first to jump.

emma and i grinned at each other. we locked hands and jumped off together.

we splashed into the water and sank. i swam up with em.

"what the fuck! we just got stood up by girls! again!!" richie yelled.

beverly whooped and jumped off.

the boys soon followed and everyone was splashing around, having fun. it was a nice scene. i quietly floated in the water just watching.

beverly and em noticed and joined me.

"you like richie, right?" bev asked.

i looked at her. "no! ew! gross! why does everyone think that?!"

she laughed. "because it's obvious. the way that you two pick at each other, you may not realize it, but you guys totally like each other."

"see! i knew it!" em exclaimed.

bev and emma high-fived as i glared at the boy that they thought i liked.

it was so completely incorrect. richie would never like me in a million years. and i wouldn't like him either.

"now you're staring at him." em giggled.

"yeah, because i don't like him."

"usually people stare at who they like." she claimed.

"oh!" i said, loudly, getting everyone's attention. "like how you look at-!"

she quickly pulled me into the water. i came out coughing. "bitch."

"s-sorry. but not sorry. you're a bitch for even bringing that up."

my eyes widened. she only swore when she was very upset.

"em... i-i'm sorry."

she sighed, returning to her happy self. "no, it's fine. let's just go play with the boys."

i scrunched up my face.

"yeah, i could've worded that better."

7:46 PM.
