Louis’ POV

'Lou, there's another article about how we're secretly dating!' Harry shouted from the kitchen, and I could hear him typing away at his laptop keyboard.

I laughed, 'Oh no!' I almost screamed, then whispered dramatically, 'They have found out our secret..'

I heard him giggle quietly - yes giggle. Harry did giggle, but I found it cute, adorable. Wait- I shouldn't be saying that, no his giggle is funny. Girlish even. Yeah thats the word.

I flicked through channels and since nothing was on, I left the news on, and then headline news came on, I listening intently, to check if it was anything interesting.

‘Haz?’ I said quietly, my eyes glued to the TV.

‘Mhmm?’ he replied, coming out from the kitchen holding two sandwiches, he passed on to me.

I nodded at the TV as he sat down on the sofa next to me, mindlessly biting at his sandwich. His eyes studied the TV carefully, his expression unreadable as he listened to the reporter on the ten o’clock news.

‘David Peters, criminal, has escaped from prison earlier this morning.’

I looked up at Harry, as he lowered his sandwich from his half-full mouth.

‘Peters, kidnapped a teenage boy from a rich background in two thousand and one. He was missing for three months, with Peters showing the beatings on the boy to his family and police via webcam. He asked for money, millions in fact, and when the family couldn’t give it to him, he was eventually murdered.’

Harry was worried. It was obvious. He was trying to hide it, but I could read him like a book. He always got paranoid when he heard about things like this; kidnappers and murders on the loose, especially since we were very famous and they’d expect to get a lot of money.

‘Awww are you scared?’ I teased, putting my arm around him.

‘Shut up…’ he snapped, switching the TV off, and shrugging my arm off from around his broad shoulders.

‘I’m sorry’ I said softly.

Maybe it wasn’t a paranoia, probably more of a phobia…

Lou, they said 'rich background' he said quietly, turning his head towards me.

'Hey,' I lifted his face up to mine, 'Dont worry about it, there's a five in however many billion there are in the world that one of us will get taken.’ I told him calmly.

‘And if he does come near us, I’ll protect you’ I laughed, posing like superman and talking with my deep voice.

He smiled and leant back on the chair, 'Thanks Lou'

'We need more milk!' Harry shouted from the kitchen.

I hopped up from the sofa and joined him by the refrigerator, peering into it, just to check we had run out.

‘You sure? You always say we need more of something and you’re either scamming me out of money for sweets, or you just didn’t look hard enough’

He nodded innocently at me, ‘We do actually need milk this time’ And he lifted the empty milk bottle up from the fridge.

'Oh. Come on, let's go down the store.'

He nodded in agreement.

We stopped off at Niall and Liam's flat to see if they wanted anything, and Zayn’s, but they didn't need anything at the moment.

We got into my car when the song by Katy Perry, ‘Part of me’ came on. I took my eyes off the road and looked and Harry, when we both burst out into song. We shouted at the top of our lungs, we did this all the time to songs. We always had so much fun. I loved Harry, I really did. He was the best brother I could ever ask for.

'Please sir, put the girl down' one of the workers began nervously, moving forwards.

The man spun around madly, holding his gun at them all. ‘Keep away!’

Louis moved, only one step, but he got the gun pointed directly at his face, 'STAND STILL' he yelled. 'Money. Give me money'

He pressed the gun harder to the girls head, and she whimpered, only to get a shove in the side from him.

A woman rushed away and came back with three big wads of money. The gun man took them from her and stuffed them into his pocket.

Louis backed quietly behind girl, observing the scene. The man started to lower the girl, and in one swift movement he dropped her and legged it out from the store, shooting randomly a few times as he fled. One shot hit an aisle far form them all, one hit the items not far from them, which all came crashing down onto the floor, and the other hit a window.

Everyone screamed again, but then silence came.

Louis had caught the girl as she fell from the man’s grasp, and pulled her onto his lap, telling her everything was ok now. Her, who he expected to be her mum, scurried over.

'Olivia! Oh my god...' she bent down next to Louis and kissed her daughters forehead.

'Thankyou' she said to Louis tearfully, 'For catching her'

He nodded and handed her over to her mum. He smiled. It hadn't been had as bad of an ending as everyone had thought.

The grumbles and distress of the workers behind him was loud, but he ignored it and left the shop, he just wanted to get away from the place, before this man guy decided to come back and blow their heads off or something.

A bang came from outside and wheels of a car screeched. Louis ran outside to see his car pulling out of the car park. With Harry still inside.

'Harry!' he screamed, running so fast with adrenaline that he caught up with the car.

Louis banged on the window, trying to jump onto the car bonnet and failing, when he saw Harry scream as the man pushed the gun into his head.

'Harry!' the car screeched again, and sped up too fast.

Louis made out Harry banging on the window, shouting his name, his expression white and terrified, as it disappeared around the corner.

He fell to his knees in the middle of the road, his head falling into his hands.

'I promised to look after him.. I broke my promise...'
