I wake up and look around the room, letting my eyes adjust to the darkness. What time is it? I look over at Tim. he's ended up throwing the blanket off himself at some point in the night, his head, arm and legs hanging over the edge limply. He's a light sleeper normally however a really heavy sleeper for someone with paranoia. But, then again, he and Jay haven't had a full nights sleep in years. I get up and walk over to Tim. His watch was analog so I don't need to worry about having to risk waking him up by tapping it. I tilt my head around to read the time: 3:52. That's pretty early. Though, I do wake up extremely early most the time anyways. I silently get back into bed and grab my phone, making sure to face the screen away from the others so I don't accidentally wake them. I turn it on but face it at the sheets so I don't get blinded by the sudden light. I slowly tilt it up, giving my eyes time to adjust to the light bit by bit as I manage to hold it facing me completely. I unlock it and immediately turn the brightness down, making it easier to see now that it wasn't so bright. I look at my calls, none. Messages? None. That is really weird. I usually have loads of messages from scammers or telemarketers or whatever else there is. I look through my phone for about an hour, looking at the clock as it just turns to 4:43. I turn it off and put it back on the nightstand, making sure I didn't accidentally knock Jay's hand that was resting in front of his own phone, which was propped up against the wall facing towards where Tim was sleeping. I walk over to the window again and look through a small gap at the silhouette of the forest and feel my chest tighten a bit. It's not Rosswood. It's a completely different forest. So why do I feel so..scared? Is it because it looks like Rosswood? Tim shifts a bit in his sleep, making me look towards him. His breathing is normal, which makes me give a sigh of relief that he wasn't having a nightmare for once. I walk over to my bed and throw my covers over me, shivering slightly from only being in a t-shirt and boxers. I look at Jay. He's sleeping with a hoodie, a jacket and jeans on, with the blanket wrapped around him twice. I mean, I know it's cold but that is ridiculous. I turn around and try to get comfortable. I get into a good position and fall back to sleep.
"Hey, Brian. You gonna get up or you gonna sleep the whole day?" I hear Tim say, clapping a few times in my ear to wake me up while walking past me. "I'm gonna get up, just give me a minute." I mumble, moving the blanket off my head as he walks into the bathroom, turning the shower on. I push the covers off, swing my legs to the side of the bed, and sit up. Jay's sitting where Tim was sleeping, the blanket now folded and on the floor with the pillows on top of it. He's sorting his suitcase out and separating everything into different piles: Clothes, hygiene, electronics, and random stuff. He's pretty much emptied it and is throwing the last few things onto the random pile. How long have they been awake for? "Oh, so you decided to finally get up!" Jay says, throwing his suitcase down at his feet. He's taken his jacket and hoodie off and is in a plain red shirt. "What time is it?" I ask, knowing Jay doesn't wake up early. "Oh, uh..." He begins, searching his pocket for his phone before remembering it's on the nightstand. I sigh and decide to just pick mine up and check the lock screen. "7:43" I read aloud so Jay hears me, resetting the brightness back to 100%. "Oh, so it's not one in the afternoon! Well, looks like I got up a bit too early, i'm going back to bed!" He replies jokingly, leaning his head back and pretending to sleep. I grab my pillow and throw it at him, causing him to fall out the chair and onto the pile of clothing he made. He laughs and gets up. Man, it really is like college. I hear the shower stop and the door unlock. Tim walks out drying his hair with a towel. He's changed into a red plaid shirt and blue jeans. "You better get dressed, we're heading downstairs to get something to eat. So if you want to get anything, you need to be quick about it." He says, throwing the towel down in the corner of the room. "Wait, they do breakfast here?" I question, immediately getting up and grabbing a pair of jeans from my suitcase. I haven't eaten in days! Not to mention I haven't had anything but energy bars, water and coffee for at least a year. Yeah, living with pretty much nothing you don't really think about getting healthy food. You just get whatever is easiest and cheapest. I get the jeans on and throw a hoodie over me, grabbing some footwear while Tim chuckles at my desperation for actual food. "Shut it, Wright!" I yell at him, losing my balance trying to get one of my boots on as I fall into my suitcase. This makes him go into full on laughter as he grabs the wall to stop himself falling. "Oh yeah, very funny isn't it! I haven't eaten any real food for ages! I've been living off energy bars for years!" I yell at him. He's now holding his stomach as he's laughing like a madman. Jay joining in a bit too. I turn around and pull my other boot on, getting up and grabbing the pillow I threw at Jay. "Shut it!" I yell, hitting him with the pillow. He raises his hand in defence, still laughing "H-hey! Stop it!" He shouts through laughter, backing away from the pillow and standing up again. "Lets go." He says, opening the door and walking out, Jay and I going immediately after.
