The exams had come and they also passed without too much trouble. (subtle pun lol)
Straight after exam week was over, Jimin finally asked Yoongi to come over.
"-and let's actually talk as well." his face became the laughing-crying emoji. Yoongi responded by nodding,
"I'll try my best, if that's what you want."
They arrived at Jimin's house. He let Yoongi in and a dog ran up to the door to greet them. He jumped up on Yoongi.
"Sorry for Mochi! He can be a little excited when a visitor comes over." Yoongi cooed and sat down to pet Mochi. He was a mongrel, mostly labrador though, with perhaps a touch of lurcher. He had marshmallow soft fur, and he smiled up at the boy. After thoroughly inspecting him, Mochi stepped back and allowed Yoongi and Jimin to walk towards Jimin's room. It turned out to more plain than Yoongi expected. There were milky white walls, a single bed in the corner with plain blue sheets. No posters, nothing was out of place, and surprisingly, no clothes on the floor.
"Damn it's...cleaner than i expected, i must say." Jimin giggled.
"Here, sit on the bed. I should be getting started on homework."
"Tch, that's a lie. We just finished exams, we won't get homework for the rest of term thank god." Yoongi reasoned. Jimin subtly blushed, just enough for Yoongi to notice. He didn't say anything though, not wanting to scare Jimin away.
"Yeah, i knew that. Yep, I totally did." Jimin softly said to himself, it was almost inaudible, but just enough for Yoongi to pick it up.
"What was that?"
"Aha nothing I swear." Yoongi raised his eyebrow but didn't say anything. They sat in silence for about a minute before Yoongi finally asked,
"Why did you invite me here? It's not like i'm desirable company or anything." Jimin hesitated for a moment before saying simply,
"I'm quite sure myself, honestly. It just felt kind of right for me to invite you over after hanging around with you for so long." Another silence.
"...Jimin-ah, do you plan to go back to your other friends after your done messing with my feelings?"
"I'm thinking about th- wait what was that last part hyung?"
"After you're done messing with my feelings."
"Explain, hyung." Yoongi told him without a missing a beat.
"You used to ignore me, but now you're like a lost animal who won't stop following me everywhere. I know that your thing with Taehyung might've pushed you out of the group slightly, but it's been like 3 months now. I'm not saying I don't enjoy your company or anything, and I don't find you annoying at all, all i'm saying is why me? Out of everyone else at this school, why did you choose me of all people to go to for shelter?" Jimin let out a sigh, but it was hard to tell if it was out of exasperation or cluelessness. He kept quiet for what felt like at least 2 minutes to Yoongi. 2 extra long minutes. At last, Jimin just replied,
"You seemed like a reliable person, I guess. You didn't look like a person to reject me, and from my observations, you seem to be pretty honest with how you're feelings. That's pretty much it. Please don't think that I'm doing this to play with you, I can promise you right now that I'm not lying. I don't know about your past, and I don't know why you seem to isolate yourself from everyone else so much, but I won't judge you for the reason. It's probably something you haven't shared with anyone, and don't want to anytime soon. It's fine, i won't press for it."
Jimin swiveled his chair so he wasn't facing Yoongi anymore, but Yoongi could tell that the back of his neck had turned a cotton candy pink.
