Our fantasy was that we'd live in a classical Victorian-themed mansion together.

The sky above our heads held nothing to
the oceans within your blue eyes.

A garden as timeless as our era
would be a sea of dark green vines and marble.

Dazzling chandeliers accompanying the ceiling
are symbols of your elegant enchantment.

Our bedroom would have a pristine glass skylight that lets the stars slightly glint in above us.

The sheets made of the smoothest maroon satin
as you drift to sleep in my arms.

Your gentle breathing acting as a lullaby
with my nose and lips buried in your neck.

Every word you've ever said to me
in your alluring, breathy voice

Has filled my heart with
a yearning so insatiable.

Black and white tile on the level
are a glimpse back to the days with you.

You told me that you loved me
and that our daughter would be strong

But I can't help but think about
where it all started to go wrong.
