Sonia Kaspbrak, Eddie's mom, had never liked Richie Tozier. She thought he was bad for her dear Eddie, and that he'd ruin him. One of the reasons why, was that she didn't like his clothing, he looked so messy. And a few times she'd even heard him tell Eddie some joke, that she found vulgar and disturbing.

She'd told Eddie to stay away from the whole losers club, and especially 'that Tozier kid', but Eddie hadn't listened to her.

When they defeated IT, Richie had started spending even more time with Eddie. He'd been so scared, and now that he had gone trough all of that, thinking they would both die, he'd realized how he really felt about Eddie, and now that he'd fought a demon clown, he wasn't afraid, or nervous anymore, because who cares? we're all going to die anyway, why not make the most out of it?

The night of the same day, that they'd all made the promise, Richie climbed through Eddie's window. Crawling in, while Eddie held the window open for him. Richie sat on the edge of Eddie's bed, and Eddie joined him.

"I'm happy to see you, but what are you doing here?" Eddie asked Richie softly.

Eddie wasn't sure about what he was feeling for Richie, but he knew it was unusual and weird and... powerful, it was something big. He felt happy and safe with Richie, he got butterflies in his stomach whenever they were together, and Richie didn't feel like the rest of the losers club to him, he was special.

"I've realized something," Richie began "when we were... with IT, I always turned to you, like as a reflex or something..."

"yeah, I remember..." Eddie said. He was looking at Richie with concern, he had no idea what Richie was trying to get to.

"well.. I- it-..." Richie was nervous, now that he was actually there, in Eddie's bedroom, trying to confess to him, he felt shaky and hot. What if Eddie didn't feel the same way? what if he didn't want to be his friend anymore?

"shit, I'm nervous" Richie chuckled uncomfortably.

Eddie was staring at him, waiting for him to continue.

"I realized that I wanted to see you as the last thing if I died, and that I wanted to protect you and that I would have died for you... and.. I realized why" He took in a deep breath "I have a huge crush on you" He said finally.

Eddie's mouth opened and formed a little 'o', he looked shocked and nervous, and confused, and he was blushing. "wha- what??" He managed to let out.

"Eds, if you don't want to be my friend anymore I get it, I'll leave right now if you want me to" Richie was rambling.

Eddie was scared and confused, but he finally realized how he felt about Richie. That's what it was, a crush, he was sure of it now.

He started to panic inside his head, when he'd fully taken it all in. He had a crush on his best friend, who was a boy, A BOY. He couldn't be gay, could he? He didn't want to be, being gay was wrong, or at least everyone said so. What would all the others say? No one would accept him, he'd have to hide it, he'd have to hide that he was gay.

But Richie liked him back.. RICHIE LIKED HIM BACK

"I- I- I have a crush on you too" Eddie blurted out, and started to wheeze.

Richie immediately took out a spare aspirator out of his pocket, where he'd kept one for years, just in case Eddie would need it, and held it to Eddie's mouth. He triggered it a few times and then let Eddie breathe in peace.

When Eddie's breathing had calmed down, Richie took Eddies right hand in his, and held it.

"I've liked you since first grade" Richie said softly, and gave Eddie a smile.
