In A Dream

A/N: I wrote this a bit more than four months ago, but I thought that I might as well put it here. This is likely super cringey. This one's supposed to have sort of a flow-of-consciousness feel to it. Just to give you a heads-up: I don't like to try to write poems that rhyme, because I REALLY suck at those; so don't expect many poems that rhyme, if there end up being any like that at all. But, anyway; I've been going on for too long, probably. Enjoy the poem, I guess😅

I find a seashell in the sand
I study it
I think of it
I dream of it
A spiral seashell
Spiraling down to a place yet unknown
Unknown in the dark
Dark and dank
A dim-lit dungeon
A feeling of heaviness
Dragging heavy chains
Dragging
Hesitance
Reaching
Grasping
A mesh
A cage
A cell
A dark, dank cell
An empty cell
An empty room
An empty home
A feeling of isolation
Isolation in darkness
Dark and lonely
With nothing
Nothing
A void
Filled with nothing
Heading nowhere
A state of nonexistence
A state known and forgotten
A state unknown
A state of dormancy
A state of unawareness
A feeling of sinking
A cold feeling
Not moving
Not breathing
Heart racing
Heart beating
Limbs flailing
Limbs moving
Eyes seeing
Seeing light
Light above
Never below
Reaching
Climbing
Struggling
Crawling
Tumbling
Crashing
Crashing waves
Lungs filling
Lungs breathing

A/N: I'm sorry if that was super cringey😖 It sounds all depressing and angsty and shit. I've never written many poems (most just for assignments), but from time to time I find it fairly enjoyable when inspiration hits me. I hope that at least you didn't hate it. And if you did, maybe if I ever post more you'll like those ones better; idk. See ya!
