Entry: My latest theory begins and ends as they always do; with uncertainty. This is purely a train of thought that I haven't been able to shake from my mind, and so far I haven't been able to support it with any pure facts. However, I see it as important to record any possible development in my personal knowledge of our kind, so that's what I'll do. The date is February 11th, and my newest theory is on the topic of humanity.
I've begun to wonder what could spur such a lack of consideration for human kind in those who are like my coven, and yet so different. Their diet consists of sheer human blood, and in my years of living this life I've witnessed some who throw around human life without regard and take it whenever they like. Before now, I pinned all of this down to the fact that each of these creatures had been sociopaths, incapable of feeling remorse or any kind of sympathy both in their past, human life and present immortal life. However, considering the large scale of immortals who choose this murderous lifestyle, I've begun to doubt that theory.
It's possible, also, that the way that certain people respond once they've endured transformation is simply down to instincts; we cannot relate to humans and therefore feel no pitiful emotions to them whatsoever. And yet those such as myself, my coven and others appear to be exceptions to that theory. And so I began to question it even more.
It isn't uncommon for reflections of our human life to follow us into this one; I've always speculated that the gifts that I've seen in my years of this life are a result of that specific person's personality. Take Alice, for example. The visions that she had in human life appear to be the reason she has such a gift now. This was the main reason that led me to my conclusion.
What if humanity can be turned off? What if, some creatures such as ourselves are affected by their human personality in a way that once a vampire, their humanity is no more. What if this only affects a specific handful of immortals. This theory would explain how James was able to track Bella with no consideration, how Aro can decide punishments without a blink of regard for anyone but himself.
I don't believe that every immortal automatically has no humanity once they come into this life; there are too many examples of compassion that ive seen, such as that in every member of my coven. What I do wonder, though, is if a 'humanity switch' could be a real concept. And, if it is, who can be affected? Maybe some immortals aren't given a choice - they have no humanity immediately - or maybe in rare cases, an immortal can choose to turn it off.

A/N
Hellooooo again!! For any of you who aren't new readers and who have read my other works, I'll admit I didn't think that I would end up writing again so soon. However, I'm so excited for this plot. I'll explain more about it later, but there are some things you should understand first.
First - Renesmee has a brother. No, he's not canon, so before I get comments of 'EJ doesn't exist' I know he doesn't. But for the sake of this story, he does.
Second - he's not like his sister. I'm actually using a plot that my friend made so all credits to her - hey, cam, waddup buddy - where EJ was born a year after Renesmee, whilst both parents were immortal, and he's referred to as a Moonpool Child. Long story short, he grew up way faster, has the full strength of a vampire, and is younger than her although they look the same age once they're teenagers.
I think that's it for now, except maybe I should mention that yes, I am referring to this as a The Vampire Diaries crossover. There wont be any TVD characters, but I stole the humanity switch concept.
If you have any other questions, ask them in the comments at any time.
Bye for now !
