I am a Centaur

Chapter 1

My name is Lucy Gemstone. I would have liked to of given you the rundown of my life but at this point and time hunters have been attempting to throw ropes over my neck and capture me to kill or sell me for money, greedy humans they are. At this point in time, I would have hoped you have realized I am no human myself, I am a Centaur - yes a human's top half of their body stuck on a real horses body, just without a head and neck.

BANG! 

The hunters have caught up to me aiming their guns at my legs to stop me from running. I continued to push my 4 legs past their limit, with me stumbling over small logs and rocks as I go so fast I can barely see clearly - I only can see large objects like trees and boulders.

CRASH!

Quickly I gave a glance behind me seeing one of the men had fallen off the motorbike they rode to chase me down like some kind of wild animal, which I am indeed not. Following blindly through to forest was not the best idea I had in mind but I cannot lead them towards my home and I cannot give myself over to them so the only thing I could do was follow my instincts on running through the forest which is based right next to a country town. All I could do was hope I am heading in the right direction away from the town. That is when my luck had run out, I could see large houses beside me as I continued to run at full speed, which meant there would eventually be houses and fences in front of me.

BANG!

As I held my hands to my face as I attempted to block the wind out of my face to see where it hit, but fortunately the bullet had skimmed my butt, the luck may still be with me. That is when I spoke too soon, I saw ahead a fence no higher than my hips, which I am standing 16hands but I had never jumped that high before and I wondered if I could make it, as I looked behind me I saw they are slowly catching up to me with their ropes ready.

My muscles burned, my eyes stung and the only things I could hear were my panicking heart, my thumping hooves against the ground and the sounds of motorbikes behind me. You would have thought my body would have gotten used to getting chased each day when I go out for supplies. As I neared the fence I started to panic on whether I could actually jump that high or not, but not giving myself a choice, I took one last step before I lifted my front hooves against my stomach and then putting my back hooves together a second later, as I take a large leap over the high fence.

At that moment of time, I knew instantly I was not going to make it. My front hooves got caught on the top of the wooden fence which made me fall forward as I saw the ground getting closer to my face, my back hooves not even making it over the fence instantly I put my hands out to protect my face.

My rear end was stuck on the other side of the fence panicking I struggling to get out of the awkward position, I look around I saw humans staring at me with both shock and awe, with a hint of fear. As I look behind me seeing the hunter with a needle in his hand coming towards me quickly but I manage to get myself over the fence in time but I land harshly on the rocks below me, as I wince in pain getting up seeing my hind legs are bleeding. I looked to my right and left seeing more humans had come to see what was going on. My eyes stop on a young boy maybe around the same age as me about 17-18 looking at me in awe, while behind him two older humans show scared and shocked faces, suddenly I heard the motorbikes coming closer until I saw them come around the corner quickly as they head towards me as the humans moved quickly out of their way. 

The hunter jumped off their motorbikes coming towards me with guns and ropes, as they yelled harsh things my way, as I rear in panic as I strick out my front hooves at them becoming taller and trying to be more threatening then them. I landed back down as I keep my hands and arms in tight being frightened not knowing what to do as humans surround me making it almost impossible to get out.

Suddenly I heard in the distance sirens coming in my direction. Today had not been my day of luck.
