“Teenagers these days.” mumbled an old woman as Rose got onto the city bus. She made her way to the back of the bus and took a seat by the window. She was used to people (mainly older) saying stuff like that. It still hurt to hear it though. They judged her without getting to know her. They didn’t know a single thing about the dark haired girl with the big tummy. They didn’t know that she was forced to leave home and move into the city where she knew nobody. They didn’t know what she had been through.
Rose sighed and looked at her reflection through the window. She had a tear that was starting to make its way down her face. Hastily, she wiped the stray tear away and turned to look at the other passengers on the bus.
There really wasn’t that many people on the bus. Maybe six or seven, not including her. Most were over the age of fifty. But, there was a girl who seemed about twenty or so, with a cute little boy about three with shaggy blonde hair. He was asleep on her lap and she was reading a book that had the book jacket off. For the rest of the bus ride Rose had just watched the duo. Whenever the little boy would stir, the mom would put down her book and cuddle the boy until he was back asleep. One time, he awoke fully and looked up at her and said “Mommy, I love you.”
Rose had thought that was the cutest thing she had ever seen.
Rose padded off the bus with a little more pep in her step than before. She turned the corner and walked into Tesco’s to get Reese Cups and pickles. She had been craving them for a while now. Walking into the store Rose had found the Reese’s right away. Now all she needed was the pickles and she would be on her way back home to watch Disney movies all day.
She turned the corner and walked down an aisle, still not finding the pickles. “Where are those damn pickles?!” Rose mumbled under her breath.
Rose gave a frustrated sigh and blew her dark brown hair from her face. She walked, well waddled, out of the aisle that she was in-- and right into a brick wall of a man. “Sorry, I’m just trying to find pickles but they obviously don’t want me to find them because I’ve looked in every damn aisle in this store but I STILL can’t find them anywhere!” She rambled, noticing that she made the man dump everything he had in his hand, which included a six pack of beer that she was surprised didn‘t burst open.
“It’s alright, love.” Laughed the man who Rose had run into. “The pickles are right at the end of the next aisle.”
“Thank you so much!” Rosie said as she went to pick up the items she made the man drop. “I’ve got it, Babe!” He said, picking up the dropped items.
“Sorry about that!” Rose gushed. “Don’t worry about it!” He said, sticking out his hand. “I’m Louis by the way.”
“Rose, Nice to meet you Louis!” She said, shaking his hand.
She then looked up at the man. He looked familiar but she just couldn't place why. He had light brown shaggy hair that was pushed aside. He had on a white and blue striped shirt with a dark grey hoodie overtop and a pair of dark grey sweat pants. He also had a pair of grey Toms. On top of his head he had on a beanie and the hood of the jacket was up over his head like he was hiding.
“Nice to meet you too” Louis smiled. “Are you from around here?” He questioned.
‘No, I’m from a place called Wolverhampton.” She said.
“So, what are you doing here in London?”
“University.” She replied with a slight frown on her face.
“So, Rose, how far along are you?” Louis said, trying to change the subject to knock off that frown. It didn’t work.
Rose paused for second, looked at her watch and said “Seven months, 2 weeks, three days, twelve hours, give or take a few.”
Louis stood there shocked. “That’s very exact.” He said laughing, slightly confused.
'Yeah, well, you’d remember the exact time if you got raped too.' Rose said in her head. She started walking around Louis and into the next aisle to finally get those damn pickles she came here for.

Louis stood there shocked. He wasn't exactly sure if she ment to say that out loud to him, but something told him she hadn't.
