Mom hugged her tight, as if hesitating to let the lass go or not. That afternoon was a tiring one. Marc had called earlier, warning Maddie of not exposing herself to fans. She wasn't allowed to take any more than twenty selfies with the fans. Matt had come with her, standing there awkwardly while the family exchanged hugs. Michael said mean things to Maddie even on the last minute. He'd totally piss her off.
"Don't forget what I told you, Maddie. Shampoos, creams, moisturisers, blow dryers and clothes. Think about your class, too. Remember, act like a lady, think like a-"
"Boss, mom. Boss. I know. I've read that quote over three hundred times. No worries," Maddie said, calming her mom down. Mom planted a kiss on her daughter's cheek and hugged her for the last time in a while.
"Madeleine Gonzales!" A girl's squeal rose from Maddie's back. She turned around to see a girl of about fifteen running towards her with a Samsung Galaxy phone in her hand. She smiled, knowing this was going to be her first selfie with a fan today. The girl ran and hugged Maddie. "Oh my gosh! You are like perfect! Perfect body, beautiful modelling, awesome voice, and etcetera!"
"Awww, thanks!" Maddie thanked. She looked at Matt and her family who were watching with hopeful eyes. She turned all her attention back to the girl. She had hazel eyes with dark hair. She had it dip-dyed with pink and red tips.
Maddie couldn't help but think of about how many fans she will greet in Barcelona. She was a Spanish rooted girl. She was originally a Latina. Which sums up why a lot of people are awaiting her visit.
"So! Can we take a selfie?"
"Sure, why not?" The girl brought up her phone, switching the camera to front. She grinned and told Maddie to do the same. But suddenly, when Maddie smiled, the girl pulled a duck-face. And Maddie was definitely not fond of that pose so she just kept her smile on. They finally took a picture and Maddie signed the girl's shoes, shirt, cap and hand. They bid each other goodbye and Maddie said her final goodbyes to her family and walked to the doors with Matt. Her hands were awkwardly empty since she had no suitcases to carry. Only her purse and her cases were in the plane already.
"You know, you're a drug," Matt said, his voice horribly calm. Maddie didn't look at him.
"Makes no sense," Maddie said.
"Your parents are addicted to you and cannot let you go," Matt explained. She hummed yes and kept walking.
The airport was a bit cold. And Maddie had chosen a top to wear, which apparently, wasn't a great idea for an airport this cold. Without anyone stopping them, the two walked to the VIP area, where two guards awaited them. Maddie pulled out her Civil ID and showed it to one of the guards. Matt did the same after her and the guards let them through, guiding them to the place where a private jet was warming up its engine. A harsh and strong wind blew Maddie's chocolate hair out of her face, making her wince at the greeting of the energy.
Another man in a suit stood by the jet, his arms folded. Maddie walked past him, greeting him with a hello. Matt followed her and together, they got into the plane. The wind died down and Maddie stared out the window. Suddenly, the seat she was sitting on shifted. She turned to see Marc grinning at her.
"Hey Marc," Maddie groaned.
"Hello Maddie," he replied. The three sat silently for a while, each fiddling with something; Matt with his belt, Marc with his head phones and Maddie with her phone. "Do you have any good music I can listen to?" Marc asked Maddie. She huffed and swiped open her iPhone. She pressed on Music and selected her Marc playlist. Every single time Maddie was with Marc, he'd ask her for her phone so he could listen to music. So, just for him, she downloaded all his favourite songs and grouped them in a playlist she named 'Sexy Alpaca'. And that playlist was dedicated all the way to her lovely manager, Marc. She handed him her phone and Marc chuckled.
