You could say that I had a pretty normal life, and I loved it, well most of it anyway. My name is Maya Baker and I am just another normal 16 year old living in Holmes Chapel, in the UK.
A bit about myself... well I love to play sports and I am pretty good at them as well. I was captain of my basketball team, and MVP of my football and volleyball team. I had a lot of friends at school, but I was close with three particular girls, Kylie, Victoria, and Chantelle. We are so close and do pretty much everything together. We even planned out our bucket list for when we are a bit older. We are pretty retarded :)
I went to a pretty rich school which has its advantages. I loved all the new things we had, but our uniforms were a little much. It was a purple skirt that reached a little under mid-thigh, a white button up shirt and a black blazer. I would always snaz it up a bit with cute shoes or nice accessories.
I woke up one morning with my alarm screaming in my ear and my mom opening the blinds in my room to reveal the blinding sunlight. “We both slept in, you have 30 minutes to catch the bus! GET UP!” My mom yelled. I quickly got up and ran to the toilet. I had absolutely no time to take a shower so I washed up and put on very light makeup. I had brown curly and very poofy hair that went almost to my elbow, but it was either straight or curled when I went out of my house. Thank god my hair was already straight so I just brushed it out. I had hazel eyes and long eyelashes, I thought I was okay on the pretty scale, not ugly and not gorgeous. I never put a lot of makeup on, even when I went out.
I ran to my room and slipped on my skirt and tucked my white shirt in. Thank god I had a pretty slim figure because I played a lot of sports, because if not I would be big, meaning obese. I ate a lot, and when I say a lot I mean A LOT.I decided to add a hat to this look, so I unbuttoned some of the shirt and put on my blazer and a cute black hat. I topped the look off with my black Toms. I ran downstairs with my bag and snatched up my breakfast before darting out the door and to the bus.
School was normal today, I saw my friends, almost slept through my classes, and I was on my way out of the school to catch my bus after saying goodbye to my friends. When I walked onto the bus, there was nowhere to sit. I looked around again and say a free seat next to someone I didn’t want to sit beside.
Harry was his name, he was my neighbour, and we had been such close friends growing up. We were pretty much inseparable until we got older, and he started to figure out that he couldn’t be best friends with me without people making fun of him. So he started hanging with some other guys in our age group, and pretty much stopped talking to me from then.
He always looked the same to me, with his brown curls and piercing green orbs to his dimples and perfect smile. But as he got older I found him a lot more intriguing. He was just so good looking, but I never told anybody that, not even my best friends.
Since it was the only seat on the bus, I walked over with Harry staring me down with every move. I locked eyes with him when he gave me a weak smile. “Hey, can I sit here?” wow I sounded desperate…wtf. “Uh...yeah sure, go ahead.” I gave him a small smile and sat down. Great, this is awkward. I took out my iphone and plugged in my earphones. Blocking everything out to the sound of Coldplay for the next 25 minutes.
When I got off the bus, Harry was right beside me. Shit, I forgot he was my neighbour. Why did he take the bus anyway, he never does. He was walking right beside me so I started to walk faster to risk any further awkwardness. I was walking to my door when I heard something. “Well, see’ya tomorrow Maya.” with one of his award wining smiles. Oh god… this was weird. “Yeah… see’ya.” I gave him a small smile and walked in with a thousand questions roaming around in my head.
