Hello, my name is James Charles Black and I am going to my best friend's house, her name is Jessica, and I am so excited for tonight because I have not seen her in a while and I have decided that I am going to come clean about my feelings. As I changed into my humming bird costume, I felt the sudden urge listen to my Halloween music dancing around my room until my mother came upstairs to tell me that I had to go early to help Jessica set up, perfect time to tell her. I rushed downstairs and grabbed my house keys on the way out just to be safe that I would be able to get back in tonight. As I made my way down the sidewalk I was humming "Thriller" by Michael Jackson. I was not paying attention to where I was walking and crashed into a police officer, "I am so sorry sir, I was not paying attention to where I was walking." I said quickly.
"Just make sure you pay attention tonight is the night people think they can get away with stupid stuff," the officer responded, I nodded understanding.
"Thank you for the warning," I nodded, walking off back to my path. 'That was weird,' I thought to myself, 'normally they just tell you to keep your head up, but I guess it made sense for the warning on this night.' I made it to Jessica's house knocking.
"Hey, James, glad you could make it and help me set up," Jessica smiled at me, I nodded and she lead me to the main room, where sat our other friend, Berry Allen (Yes, I know that is the Flash's name I am slightly obsessed), he nodded a greeting and I smiled at him.
"Hey Berry, how are you?" I asked being polite and he just shrugged probably tired of the night already as he was an introvert. I followed what Jessica was telling me to do until we were finally alone. "Hey Jess," I started and she hummed in response, "have you got any idea where the closest place to bury a body would be?" I asked.
"Whose body are you gunna bury?" She questioned me back to my surprise. OH NO ABORT MISSION I CAN'T TELL HER, HER BODY!!!!
"That does not matter," I blew off her question. She shrugged no longer willing to answer my question, so we worked in silence until Berry started to play the music. Which started with "Thriller" by MJ. "So Berry, are you just gunna be the DJ tonight or not because people will request songs," I asked/said.
"Eh, I don't really want to talk to people, so DJ could work if I put a piece of paper for the song suggestions then I wont have to worry about forgetting one or talking to people," Berry looked around the room. I nodded and Jess seemed excited for Berry, she has always liked him and it aggravated me, like can you not show your love to this dude he doesn't like you. Berry looked at the door deciding it was time for him to walk away. As soon as we were done setting up the first group of people got there and of course it was the stupid preppy girls that Jessica tries to fit in with. I sighed but stood out of the way.
"The main room is just around the corner and down the hall," I said pointing them in the right direction. They nodded and headed in the direction I pointed them in. I decided to sit down so I wouldn't have to keep walking back and forth to the door to let guests in, which Jessica thought was a good idea as she did not show up once to see where I was.
*Time Skip to the end of the party brought to you by Samuel Adams*
After the party which was horrible, I mean they blasted music and I have always had sensitive eardrums so I had a pounding headache which made it look as if I were drunk, as I continued to walk back home I closed my eyes for a second. The second after I closed my eyes I tripped over something, my eyes shot open to come face to face with concrete and I looked around to see a pair of yellow eyes, like cat eyes, staring at me, "Hello..." I managed to say before darkness took over, to be quickly replaced with a bright white light. I soon came to realize that this was what death was like, darkness but then light...
