"It's the new season here at Hail Angel College!"
I proclaimed as my best friend and I loudly mocked the school bulletin.
"Please welcome our new students:
Vincent Engle
Axel Engle
Rose Water
Wolf Silka
Aaron Zuchka
Jace Laptone
Zaki Belerstone
Mia Huttferr
Brittney Schofton
Zora Champlin
Charlotte Pikherdt"
"Sounds like little miss Rose has some catching up todo~" Mia cooed into my ear.
"Don't do that!" I shivered and walked away, she knows how to get me goin!
"Awe why?" She drew out that Y so long I thought that she wasn't going to stop.
"Because you, my dear, are embarrassing me!" She laughed and walked to me, putting her arm around my shoulders.
"You know, I could just have your dad come and-"
"NOPE!" I stood straight up and made an X with my arms. "Not going to happen!"
"Humph." She puffed out her face, in a mocking way almost. I rolled my eyes and laughed, she joined in as soon as I started.
"Had me going there!" I wiped a tear from my eye, she nodded.
"I'm going out for a bit, Okay?" I nodded and waved her out. I needed to get my stuff ready for the school year anyways. It's not like this school is easy to get in to, it's basically like you have to be the best of the best....... And have lots of money.
I looked around at my boxes and sighed, boy if my father knew I was living with a girl AND a boy... He would be here faster than a dog chasing the mail man. I shook my head at the thought and picked up one of the boxes then headed to my room, it was small but hey - it was home. I dumped the box out onto the bed and noticed the family photo I brought here, I picked it up and sighed. Mom, Dad, Josh, Jerry, and then me, Rose. Don't get me wrong, I love my family very much. I was never abused or neglected in any way, always had a roof over my head and a warm bed to sleep in. I was just missing... home.
I started to put some of my clothes away when I heard the door open.
"I'm in my room! Bring me a box slave!" I shouted into the emptiness of the hall that divided our rooms. "Hello?" I poked my head out and noticed that the door was wide open. I rolled my eyes and smirked. "Harny har har!" I walked to the door and closed it, I was slightly creeped out though, to be honest. I grabbed another box and headed back to my room, also dumping that onto my bed. Turning my head and looking at the window, I decided to pull back the curtains and smiled at the view. Trees. Beautiful and wonderful trees.
Different colors and at different stages in Autumn. I opened my window and looked out on to the street and saw two people walking. A light wind blew across me and into my room, it was chilly. It was getting to be that time of year again, where the pumpkins grow and the ghouls come out.
CRASH
I jumped about 20ft in the air and spun around to the kitchen to see what broke. I stopped dead in my tracks, the door was wide open again.
"What the hell?" I whispered to myself as I slowly crept through to the door.
"What the hell, indeed." I jumped and spun around, palm going full force on to a face that was just a few moments ago right behind me.
Another thump.
"Oww....." I opened one of my eyes and sighed. It was one of the kids that was on the list, what was his name again?
"Let me guess.... Rose Water right?" I nodded and he laughed "Parents hated you huh?" I glared at him; If there was one thing I was known for - it was my sharp tongue.
"Oh I didn't realize that you were coming around!" He smiled and looked almost proud; time for the kill. "I thought the small dick meeting was tomorrow!" He stood there a little shocked and then busted out laughing.
"I like you!" He came and patted my back, I was confused.
"And you are?" He took a step back and held out his hand.
"I, my fair lady, am the one and only Axel. Axel Engle." I nodded and shook his hand.
"I'm guessing your here with the honors of breaking and entering then?" He laughed and shook his head.
"I'm with the honors of history, my dear." I wanted to laugh at him so bad, he's acting like he's from the dark ages or something. "What about you? Honors in cheerleading?" I snorted.
"More like honors in ugly and fat if we're going in that direction!" I laughed as I grabbed another box and headed to my room.
"Don't be like that!" I turned to him and looked at his complexion, pale. Almost as white as a ghost- but not a single freckle or sun spot, not even a slight scar. Perfect. I walked back to him and went to grab another box. "seriously though, look at me." I looked up at him and smiled.
"Phycology" I lied.
"Hm?" He leaned in slightly, a little confused.
"Phycology, preferably for diabetes counseling. That's why I'm here." He nodded and smiled, seeming like he didn't notice. I didn't want to tell a random stranger why I'm here.
"So, what classes do you have then?" I padded around for my sheet and shrugged.
"I'll just have to see you around then." He nodded and made his way out.
"By the way, Don't mind my brother when you meet him... He can be very.... cold." He seemed very amused at his phrasing of the word 'cold'. I shrug it off and go back to unpacking. It was going to be an interesting year.
