PROLOGUE.
She was sitting at the corner of our classroom. She’s a nerd. That’s all they see, but she’s charming, sweet and naive. She’d never notice me even though she thinks I’m her competition. I motivated myself to study even if it was hard and was not the thing I got used to. I became popular, hoping that she could notice me, but that didn’t worked. Instead, almost all girls notice me.
“Looks like you heave a deep sigh, huh?” I looked over to my twin. I brushed my fingers to my hair. “She’s someone that can make my day change.” He smiled. “So? Make a move. That girl might just be waiting for that day when you propose to her, asking her to be your girlfriend.” I chuckled. “Yeah, like that’s easy. I might make a fool out of me, that’s for sure.” He giggled. “You got the charms, I have none. But look? I got Janis! What more if you—“I shook my head and sighed. “You’re that confident huh?” He nodded. “Just because I got her.” He said and left me sitting frustrated.
Fine, I’m going to do it. Damn it. I don’t want to see her love someone else!
She’s mine and I’m going to make her mine.
Chapter One
I fixed my eyeglasses that was falling from my nose. I picked up my books that fell on the floor and fixed my skirt. Laughter filled the hallway. I’m not embarrassed. I’m used to it. But either way, I don’t deserve to be treated that way. I was born not to be made fun of. I have a purpose and obstacles blind me from such. Not long after, a pail of water spilled on top of me. I was soaked. I was tired. I was exhausted from being treated that way in every day. Not taking anymore more of their jokes, I stood still and wiped a tear that almost fell, a bitter drop from my eye.
“Oh, so the color for today is pink, huh?” They laughed at me.
“Stop it, guys. It’s not funny.” A guy blurted out. He removed his jacket and covered me with it, instead. “She doesn’t deserve to be treated this way.” They stopped. “No, stop all this. I don’t, I just don’t---“I left them, finally speaking up. He’s right but what if it’s a part of their prank?
I hugged myself and realized the jacket I’m wearing. It’s from him - the guy that I really like from class, Youngmin.
He’s my competition. Since he became popular, he also became the person ranked the highest in intelligence at class. But to think of it, I don’t mind. In fact, I like guys smarter than me, which is why I like him.
No, scratch that. I’ve always like him. Even when he wasn’t that popular in school or attentive in class, I’ve always admired his confidence - the thing that I lack most.
“Hey, wait up.” I stopped walking and looked behind me. Youngmin? He smiled running towards me. “Are you okay?” He said, still catching his breath. I nodded. “Good.” I smiled. “Do you want your jacket back?” I said while removing it but he stopped me. “No one should see the inside of what you’re wearing.” I was shocked. Really? Is it all visible? I blushed. He smiled even more.
“Can I go with you?” I was surprised by his sudden random question. “Where?” I asked. “I wanna see where you live, can I?” I chuckled. Being the naïve person I am, I allowed him to. He treated me snacks he brought along. You see, since my house is 7 minutes away, I walk to school.
“Are you a movie buff?” I smiled. “Not really.” He shook his head and tsked. “You must watch movies.” I chuckled. “But I have no time.” He smiled. “I’ll pick you up at six okay?” I chuckled. I nodded and closed the door. I smiled throughout the way to my room.
But wait, did he just ask me on a date? :””””””>
