Pining pt/2

You walk down the street and feel the warm summer air hit you as a breeze runs through your y/h/c hair, and are suddenly filled with dread and nervousness.

What if he doesn't like me back? What if I end up ruining our friendship? What if he hates me? What if-

You're thought stream is cut off by the sound of Finn calling your name from across the street at the local playground :

"Hey! Y/n! I thought you were gonna bail on me, it's already 9:30!!"
Finn says, a smile spreading on his beautiful face

"Hey, it was a long walk..."
You say, lightly punching his arm playfully

"C'mon, y/n, you know you can't fool me, I know your house is like right next door!"
The dark haired boy chuckles, wrapping his arm around you.
You immediately feel butterflies in your stomach as you feel his warm body pressed up against yours.
You both walk over to the swings, and start mindlessly swaying, kicking at the sand on the ground around the swings.

"Finn, there's.... there's something I need to talk to you about.."

You say, staring at the ground.
You feel his gaze on you, you turn and his beautiful brown eyes meet your
y/e/c eyes,

"Yeah, sure! What's up, hun?"

He adds that last bit a little quieter, a shade of pink tinting his cheeks. Luckily it's pretty dark so he hardly notices the deep red blush forming on your own face,

"Um, well... I kinda- I kinda like you. I mean maybe- maybe like isn't the right w-word I just-"
You stumble up from the swing, feeling quite anxious. You're playing with your hands (a/n is that what's it's called??? Idk you got it) then suddenly Finn stands up as well

"Hey, I uh- kinda had feelings for you too, y/n..."
He takes your left hand in his own cold one. He places a pale hand on your right cheek, feeling the heat in your cheeks. He pulls you in closer, so your faces are just centimetres apart.

"C-can I kiss you?"
He says in a whisper,

You chuckle a bit
"Oh, Wolfhard, is that even a question?"

Both of your eyes flutter shut and your lips collide in the light of a nearby streetlight.
