Error quickly summoned a portal to Outertale, the one place he truly felt safe.

He was sure that Outer nor Ink had found this small cliff.

It was out of the way of any civilization, and it was surrounded by a thick forest of trees. Not normal ones. They had leaves, of course, but the leaves all glowed a soft blue. That's why Error liked it so much. It was secluded and had calming colors.

He smiled and sat down on the cliff edge, staring up at the stars. He knew every constellation, but that didn't matter. He loved them with a passion.

But today was different. Today he just couldn't get the despair and loneliness out of his head. It tore him up inside, knowing he would just have to leave this place and go destroy AU's again.

What was wrong with him? Usually this place makes him happy. But despite that, he felt tears slipping down his face. They flowed faster until Error was sobbing, deep heavy sobs that echoed through the clearing.

Why couldn't he just be happy? Why did fate force him to kill? Why couldn't Ink just understand that this wasn't his choice?

Outer was on the edge of the forest, watching Error have his breakdown.

At first he was going to call Ink, but then Error started crying.

What the hell? He thought Error was an emotionless, soulless destroyer. Destroying things for his amusement.

This was.... unexpected.

He didn't want to startle Error by suddenly appearing, but he also felt a great yet strange need to comfort him.

Eventually his conscious won out and he started walking towards Error, who had looked back at him after hearing his footsteps in the grass.

Error looked at Outer, fear in his eyelights. What did he want? Was he here to attack him? Had he called Ink?

His fear paralyzed him.

Outer saw Error's fear, "don't worry, i didn't call ink," he sighed, "i heard you crying," he gently sat down next to the other. He made sure not to touch him. He was one of the few that were aware of Error's hatred of touch.

Error flinched when Outer started speaking, but slowly relaxed after the other sat down.

He quickly wiped the tears from his face with his sleeve, embarrassed that someone had caught him crying.

He was such a baby. Couldn't even handle looking at the stars.

He looked at Outer, "W-w-why aren't y-you attacking me?" He stuttered.

Outer shrugged, "when you started crying, you just sounded...i don't know, just so sad," he chuckled dryly, "guess what i'm trying to say is that i felt like i had to comfort you."

Error frowned, confused. Why would anyone comfort him? Why bother? He was the feared destroyer of worlds, people hate him to much to care about his comfort.

"Error i can tell that you're thinking that you don't deserve this, but, i guess that all depends on this one question," Outer's voice got deadly serious, "why do you destroy?"

Error perked up. Someone was finally going to listen. Someone would finally know his end.

It didn't matter if he didn't believe Error, at least he would know the truth.

So he told him everything. From what the balance was to why he took care of the Charas. He even told him about how Ink was soulless.

Outer was furious with Ink. Did he know Error's true purpose this whole time? If he did, then he was in for a bad time.

He and Error talked for the rest of the time he was there. They talked about the stars mostly.

It was an hour later before Error had to say goodbye. He had to do his job after all.

Outer sat on the cliff edge until he heard his phone buzz in his pocket. He took it out and looked at the text. It seems that Ink is calling a meeting. No doubt to discuss Error.

He smiled sadistically, Ink was going to pay for what he did to Error.
