Max Avery has grown up and lived in an abusive household all his life. All the time, his father beats him until he's black and blue and red all over. He spits in his sons face and yells at him for no reason at all. He burns him with his cigarettes and constantly puts him down. The torment never ceases. He's never not treated like complete shit. He's been hit to the point where he'll flinch from the slightest touches. And his mother does nothing but sit and let her husband abuse her son. She even tells Max that it's okay. That his father loves him, even if he hurts him. Max wants this abuse to end. He's tired of the ridicule and the scars and the nightmares. Sometimes, he even wants to die. To close his eyes and never open them again. Yet, he just keeps on going. Letting his father treat him like he's worthless and letting his mother turn a blind eye to her husbands actions. Why? Because, they're his parents and he loves them. Even if they don't love him back.
