It was around 3:30pm and i had just finished school and was racing down the long halls full of tired, whiny little children all heading home. I'm pushing my way through them all as we were leaving for the concert at 4pm. Luckily, i lived down the road from where my school was and my best friend's grandma did too. This made it so much easier for us!
I reach my front door and i'm fumbling for my keys. My hands are shaking with excitement. I also notice that my dad's car isn't in the driveway which panicked me a little. I finally swing the door open, i launch my bag down and sprint up the stairs two steps at a time. Big mistake when you can barely walk up stairs without being out of breath.
I manage to get changed and put on minimal in a reasonable amount of time. Concerts are the only time i can get ready in around 15 minutes.
I get downstairs again and throw my phone to my mum : "CALL KATIE TO SEE IF SHE'S READY"
Katie has been my best friend since the first year of secondary school and has been through everything with me and has stood by my side through it all!
I get the heads up that she's ready and i walk halfway to meet her - with a little spring in my step.
We get back to mine and my dad has arrived home in time. Katie and I jump straight in the car to see that my dad had gone out to buy us chicken nuggets. what a blessing!
Mum gets in the car and hands me the tickets and i get that concert-nerves feeling but i'm too busy stuffing my face with chicken nuggets to care. oops?
After an hour and a half drive of singing the lyrics to The Vamps' albums, we finally arrive at the Sheffield Arena and we jump straight out of the car.
"Have we got everything?" I ask Katie as we shut the doors.
"Yes, think so" she replies.
"NO! TICKETS!" I shout as i see my parents' car pull off. We run down the car park to catch up and i knock - a little too hard - on the window to get them to stop. Luckily they noticed and pulled aside. I grabbed the tickets and we ran to the blue doors. We had WOW PIT tickets so we wanted to get there as early as possible to get a good view. Being tall, its a good view anywhere but i always think of the photo opportunities.
Later that evening:
The Vamps announce that they're going to be singing 'Oh Cecilia' which was an absolute bop - and still is to be fair. I then look to James and he introduces a band to join them on stage.
"NEW HOPE CLUUUUUB" James screams into the microphone and 3 tall, good looking teens come bouncing on stage as Cecilia begins to play.
I'm singing my heart out alongside them. I notice the brunette in the middle and quite liked the look of him.
Reece was in front of us and Katie had taken quite the fancy to him! Lucky for us, i think we settled for different lanes.
I didn't really see much of George as he was the other side of the stage but he sounded incredible - they all did!
Cecilia had finished and New Hope Club had run off stage. Katie and I turn to each other and i say "Blake's my lane!"
I love them all but Blake stood out to me for some reason i was yet to discover.
After that night, my entire life altered.
