My life has been a complete roller coaster my entire life. But you have to choose between the important things. School and sport: sport and social life: social life and school: social life and sport. The thing is you can't have all three. I need to find someone that under stands that. It seems like nobody understands that, though. I've seen my sister go through it. Lost friends. Lost potential boyfriends. There is no way you can find all three without the people that understand. But, I think I finally found my one.

"Church." I breathe. As I walk towards the roped-off section of the parking lot.

"Hey!" My friend Abby says from across the way.

"Hey" I say regretting my appearance here.

"Let's go! I'll race you!" She yells running towards the giant blowup obstacle course in the middle of the lot. I follow lagging behind hoping she gets impatient and goes anyways. The church holds a day every year where they welcome 8th graders into the high school ministry and 5th graders into the middle school ministry. They always rent blow ups and a rock climbing wall to get the kids to socialize and make friends... It doesn't really do much though, because they a have been together since kindergarten. I make it to the obstacle course and she's waiting for me with her shoes off. Crap. I follow her lead, lining up behind the four or so people ahead of us. As we wait I look around hoping to see some of my older friends that are in worship team with me... So far no luck. I slowly scan my eyes back over the area in front of me and I have to do a double take. Wow. He's wow. A guy about 5'6 with blonde shaggy hair steps out of a typical soccer mom mini van and starts walking... Walking to wards me.

"Tara!" Abby yells. "Checking out the guys? So like you." I laugh it off but I know she's right.

"On your marks, get set, go!" a foreign voice calls and I make my way down the track, but all I can think about is that guy. I make my way to the top of the climbing wall and tumble down the slide. I have so much momentum that I fly right off the end and onto the ground. Right in front of the guy.

"Well hello to you too, I guess" his voice sounding kind of awkward, almost embarrassed.

"I'm sorry, I had a lot of power rolling down that slide" I say feeling mortified. To add to my embaressment I feel my cheeks flush, most likely turning a shade of pink.

"I'm Austin." He says reaching out his hands to help me up. He stood like a skyscraper over my small body. Just how I like it I say to myself.

"Tara" I say looking up into his hazel eyes. They're beautiful.

"How about you give up on the bouncy slides for now and come with me."

I nod in response at a loss for words, and Abby gives me an annoying grin.

I walk away from the obstacle course him at my side and walk to the cooler.

"Thirsty?" he asks and hands me a water. I sit down on the curb and look up admiring how tall he is until he sits down next to me.

"Where are you from?" He asks.

"Stranger danger." I say and give a quirky smile. Austin gives a half laugh. We go back and fourth talking about the things that you ask and answer when you meet someone, until we are interrupted by Connor. "Hey there Frodo." I say amused by his stature. The short (but not shorter than me) brown haired boy has the appearance of a hobbit, as does his twin brother Sam who has the same look to him with the exception of his strawberry blonde hair. They are inseparable, so you know that when you see one the other one is right behind. "You. Me. Bouncy house. Now. " Connor demands. "Come with!" I suggest to Austin who looks to be sizing him up. Austin nods in response and stands up brushing off the dirt from his black skinny jeans. His hand touching my waist guiding me to the destination.
