I am fed up with the frequent shifting of my mom,dad was miles away while mom had to shift frequently because of her job. I really didn't like it even a bit ,every year being the new comer sucks. I thought I started blending in but soon those thoughts would vanish because of another shift. I would have to move along leaving behind my best friends with a broken heart. Just a year has passed in little Rock, and now shifting to Miami, it sucks like hell!! Mom has no idea how hard it is to play the new comer role. Mom told me dad left to serve the country and never returned back. I spent most of my time burying my nose in the books , off course I am a book worm.
My dad disappeared when I was 5 or so. I miss him terribly. Our mustang came to a stop before a blue brick house with a unmaintained lawn. When I saw the small blue dog house in a corner just near the mail box my face lit up. Fido jumped out of the car and ran towards it. I got out of the car and went to Fido, I gently patted his head as mom stood talking to the truck driver. They moved the things into the house as I went exploring the house. I went upstairs where mom had told that there is a room that I can use, l opened the door, it was bigger than the room I had back in Little Rock, I walked to the with Fido close to my feet. The window was big and enough space for me to sit with my laptop, may be a fine place to do my homework better than the study table. I looked out of the window, the houses in our neighbourhood looked similar except for the color. I looked at the house opposite to ours, I could see a Porsche in the slightly open garage, a low whistle escaped my lips, as if somebody has heard it the light in the room just opposite to mine snapped on. All I could see was a shadow of a girl more or less my height since the curtains were drawn. A girl I thought for I could see the shadow had neck long hair moving around her neck, like a pop cut as in the movie Chronicles of Narnia(I mean Lucy from that movie). I turned away from the window as my queen sized bed and study table were brought into my room. I thought of taking a small walk to the garden I saw at the end of the street as we drove in. I went downstairs putting on my jacket for soon the sun will be gone and its already cold. I saw mom busy directing the men to keep the dinning table at the right place. " mom, I am going for a walk, is it fine?", mom turned to me after asking the men keep the things in the hall, she was worried,
" I know honey, its hard for you to to accept this, but I never had a choice". I knew it very well almost everybody in my moms office had to shift very often. " Its fine mom, I just need some fresh air until things are settled". She smiled, " Its fine homey, but return home soon its already getting dark outside". She retuned to the men and started helping with the unwrapping of boxes. One good thing in the shifting is that the company provides men to help with the moving process
I walked through the street grasping the scenery around me, when I reached the garden there were few kids and a old couple. I slowly walked towards the fountain, so this is a make-a-wish-fountain,huh. Let me try...I took a silver coin and tossed the coin into the fountain instead of sinking to the bottom,it fell on a small soft hands that belonged to a 13 years old girl, she giggled as I looked at her, "Don't waste the coin dropping it in the fountain, tell me your wish ,I will make it true,I worth more than the silly fountain". She giggled once more that made me smile, trying to be friendly I said,"so a faire lady is it?, my wish is that I need many friends".
