Bonds That Matter

Yujin and Jisung went to school earlier than yesterday. Before class starts, Jisung brought Yujin to meet with Eunbi.

"Ah, Eunbi-shi!" Jisung called out, waving into her direction. Eunbi was dumbfounded but still walked towards them. Her eyes met Yujin's and she hugged the latter. "We meet again!". "Heol, you two seem to be very close," Jisung cut in. Yujin nodded childishly. "I really like this unnie,". Eunbi was happy hearing this.

"Okay class, today we have a new student. Please come in,". With heavy steps, Yujin entered her class. People were praising her beauty. She glanced at the teacher, not knowing what to do next. He raised his eyebrows and mouthed "introduce yourself".

"Annyeonghaseyo, my name is Ahn Yu Jin. Please take care of me well," she tried her best, avoiding any stuttering. "Your seat will be beside Yena," he pointed as to where he meant. Yujin slowly walk towards her seat. People were praising her non-stop. Their voices are so low almost whispering.

"Heol, when can I be that pretty?"
"She looks like a celebrity!"
"Ah, she must be talented,"
"So pretty!"
"I envy her visuals TT,"

Once she arrived at her seat, she bowed a little to her new deskmate. The girl smiled brightly and pulled out the chair for Yujin. Yujin thanked her and grab her books from her bag.

"I'm Yena, Choi Yena," the girl said in a low voice. Yujin smiled a little. Just a little. Heck, she was nervous. She's not good at socializing after all. Throughout the class, Yujin would notice Yena glance at her once every 30 seconds. She felt a little uneasy by that.

"Okay class. That's all for today," the teacher went out as the class bowed to him.

Yena was already standing and pushed her chair under her table to go to the cafeteria. She was about to head out when she realized Yujin is still sitting on her desk. Yena could see her playing with her fingers. She slowly approached Yujin and tap the taller girl's shoulder. Yujin immediately look at Yena. Yena was dumbfounded for a bit but managed to speak, thankfully.

"I, uh.. would you like to go to the cafeteria together?". Yujin thought for a moment and agree that she was hungry too. "Okay," Yujin stood up and walk side to side with Yena.

Yena doesn't know why, but everytime Yujin's arm brush hers, she would feel tingles in her stomach. "Aish seriously. Why am I feeling things?" Yena muttered to herself.

The cafeteria was loud. It became louder when the school bully squad, with Hankyeon as their leader arrive. They pushed everyone that were queuing; making some fall. Yujin was lucky she already got her food. Yena was waving from a table not so far away. Suddenly, BAMM! The loud sound echoed. The bullies were pushing each other teasingly when one of them accidently hit Yujin. "YAH ARE YOU BLIND?" the guy roared. Obviously, it was HIS fault but for the sake of his pride, he puts blame on Yujin. Yujin was shaking on the floor. Each word that guy spit, wounds her heart. "Come on I need my apologize!" he continued. Yet still no response from her. He grew even mad and raised his hands, ready to slap the poor girl. Right on time, someone grab his hand, stopping his actions. He tried to escape his hands but failed. "Your grip is not bad judging from you size," he smirked. "Yeah, and you would really hate to experience my kicks," Yena gave him a glare.

The guy scoffed, but softened his grip. Yena let go of him. "I think I made enough fuss today. Let's go guys," and with that, they exited the place. Yena quickly ran to Yujin. She helped the latter to stand up. Yujin's uniform were slightly dirty so Yena brought her to the toilet.

"You're lucky the stain is easy to come off," Yena said as she wiped Yujin's uniform. "T-thank you. You really saved my life," Yujin said with her head facing the ground. Yena cupped Yujin's cheeks and lift her face up. "That was nothing. I would help you anytime, anywhere!" Yena smiled ears to ears. Yujin blushed at the sudden skinship. She could feel her face being flushed red. To avoid Yena's notice, she quickly pull the small girl into her embrace. Yujin starts to sob. "You don't know how much it meant to me," Yujin let all her worries come out. Now it's Yena's turn to blush. She patted the girl's back while humming a peaceful song.

The last bell rang. Yujin's mood is still down. Yena doesn't like seeing the pretty girl being like that. She suddenly thought of something that could lift Yujin's mood. "

"Hey, do you like tteokbokki? I know a place that make the best ones," Yena said. With that, Yujin looked at her excitedly. "Are you treating me?" she said with puppy eyes. Yena couldn't resist the trap and nodded. Yujin clapped her hands out of excitement.

"I need to ask for my brother's permission first," Yujin said as they walk down the hallway. "You have a brother here?" Yena didn't know this, well they just met today after all. "Yes. Jisung," Yena's mouth was wide open. "That Jisung sunbae? Wah you two are the real visuâle siblings!" Yena still couldn't believe her ears. "Yujin!" both girls turned around. Jisung was walking with Renjun. "Speaking of the devil..." Yena whispered to herself.

"Oppa, can I walk home with Yena today? She's treating me tteokbokkis!" Yujin said as soon Jisung stood face-to-face with her. "Well, I guess sure. Take a really good care of her," Jisung gave Yena a warning. Yena's eyes darted everywhere nervously. "She was my hero today, don't worry," Yujin calmed her brother. "Well I guess you have a story to tell tonight,".

Yujin was all bubbly during the whole "outing" I should say. For Yena it almost seemed like a date.

"Yena I scored 10 points!" Yujin bounced here and there. Yena's not sure why are they even at an arcade right now. The main plan was to just get tteokbokkis. Well, if this makes Yujin happy, Yena wouldn't mind a bit.

After spending about 20 dollars at the arcade, they decided to stop. Yena finally brought Yujin to the famous stall. It wasn't fancy. Just a street-stall. Yujin wasn't complaining though. "I'm happy as long as I'm with Yena," Yujin thought. But then she snapped to reality. "Ahn Yujin what was that? You just met her. But she seems nice,,, ah I don't know!". The girl was once again snapped into reality when Yena asked her if she wants it extra spicy or not. Which she answered yes.
