CHAPTER TWO

SOURCES AND QUALITIES OF GOOD EXCELLENCE.

All good and perfect gift comes from God Almighty. And all excellence in life comes from God, God is excellent in his doings and His moto is Excellency. In various passages of the scripture, His different character and manifestation are described as excellent.
In the book of Job 37:23 The almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power, in justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress.
Also in the book of Psalms 8:1-9, where His power and manifestation are described as excellent.
"O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the Earth. You have set your glory above the heavens. From the lips of the children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies to silence the for and the avenger........... You made him a little low than the heavenly beings and crowned him glory and honor. You made him ruler over the works of your hands, you put everything under his feet: all flocks and herds........".
In this passage of the Bible God was referred to as majestic which also means Excellence, therefore, any man who wants to attain excellence must be in contact with that ultimate source of excellence which is God. To be in contact with God, a man must be born again. The new birth experience changes the view of the recipient in such a way that he begins to see things in the new light as God sees them.
JOHN 3:5-8....also emphasized the need to be born again. Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he's born of water and the spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, you must be born again; the wind blows wherever is it pleases. You hear it's sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it's going, so it's with everyone born of the spirit".

NOTE: Excellence is a habit but not an act. Remember, great men always attain greatness,you too can if you accept the Lord to be your shepherd.

Excellence has attributes and signs by which it can be identified. Many things today that are called excellence are not one. There are true qualities that true excellence exhibits.

Excellence is more easily attained when there's specification, when I day specifications I mean what a person does for a living, and that is most efficient. Don't embark on a business or any work just because you saw another man prospering in it, Discover your talent and aptitude. As you patiently continue in that business, you gain more experience than before, more customers and more competence, but if you have the habit of jumping from one business to another, you deny yourself the opportunity to excel in any particular area.

Excellence is likely to change in the man who knows his capability. Competition is a necessary ingredient to the attainment of excellence, but it should not be a destructive competition. To attain excellence does not necessary mean that you must be the best in your field. Someone else may be better than you may, but if you are trying your best, you are very close to excellence. Nobody expects you to be perfect, for this world is not perfect.

Excellence does not jump down from the sky. It is deliberately pursued and attained by men who will become great. Since it's God's will for us His children to attain excellence, He will help us. He has many resources at the disposal of his children to help them succeed. Let us not forget that before we attain excellence, we must pursue it. We have to pursue it, and God will help us to get it because there's no food for a lazy man.

And also in the book of ROMANS 12:1-2 talked about the need of being born again.
"Therefore, I urge you brothers,bon view of God's mercy offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God- this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to........, Pleasing and perfect will".
