Three days before Christmas.

"Ahem," cleared the throat of a stout old man as loudly as he could possibly get. All the members in the hall turned to his direction and looked at him as he got up onto the bar counter. "You youngsters, I have something to announce!" His voiced boomed throughout the guild hall.

"What do you think he's gonna say?" Lucy asked, her eyes glued on Makarov.

"Beats me," replied Natsu, sounding as disinterested as ever everytime he had to listen to boring announcements.

"Maybe we have more training?" retorted Erza, sparkle shining in her eyes. "If that's the case, then I need to get packing as soon as possible-"

"I... don't think that's the case, Erza-san," interrupted Wendy as she sheepishly smiled at the crimson-haired lady sitting opposite her.

"Guys, be quiet. He's about to speak," exclaimed Gray, and all of Team Natsu turned to face the guild master.

His eyes scanning the hall, he took a deep breath and his eyes stopped where Natsu and the gang were sitting. "In celebration of the upcoming Christmas holiday, I have decided to host a Christmas party at the guild!"

As though on queue, everyone in the guild started cheering, expressions of happiness filling up the hall. In no time, the hall was filled with excited chatter from all the wizards. It quickly got obnoxiously noisy and Makarov had to clear his throat loudly again to regain everyone's attention. "But... I have one rule for this party!" He said as loudly as possible.

"Oh crap, what could it be..." Lucy heard Laxus mumble from the seat behind her.

"Everyone has to have a partner in order to attend the party!" his voice echoed throughout the hall, and grunts of displeasure could be heard coming from the crowd.

"Ugh, are you fucking kidding me?!" Laxus said in frustration as placed his elbow on the table and rubbed his temples with his fingers. "Honestly, I don't even know if I want to go to this party anymore." Evergreen leaned from across the table towards him. "Laxus, don't be such a wuss! You can always partner with me, I'm sure to be lots of fun!"

Lucy decided to stop eavesdropping from that point. Redirecting her focus to her teammates, she listened in to their conversation.

"A partner?! Who am I supposed to go with?!" cried Natsu.

Lucy sighed at his obliviousness. "Obviously Lisanna's gonna ask you out." She turned towards Gray, Wendy and Erza. "Who are you deciding on partnering up with?"

Wendy pondered for a moment. "Maybe.. I'll ask Romeo to partner with me."

Dammit! cursed Lucy inside of her head.

"How about you, Erza?"

"I'll probably go with Mira or Mystogan... if he ever shows up."

"Ah, I see." Lucy replied in a dissatisfied tone.

Gray crossed his arms across his bare chest. "I don't have anyone to go with though... so I was wondering-"

Lucy quickly leaned towards him. "Great! Gray, we can partn-"

Before Lucy could finish her sentence, and all-so familiar voice could be heard coming closer to them. "Gray-sama~!"

Gray's eyes widened in fear. "Oh my god."

"Gray-sama~! Let's be partners for the party!" Juvia suddenly appeared out of nowhere right next to Gray, which caused the ice mage to be spooked. Glaring at the blue-haired girl, he snapped at her. "I'm actually on planning to partner with Lucy for-"
