There is a single mother on the other side of town. She lives on the side of town that nobody visits because it's very poor. The other side of the town is rich beyond those people's wildest desires. The mother has no family, no family except her daughter Digna. They have no shelter. Just living on the streets. It was a very cold winter in the city of Boston. The coldest winter in years. "Mommy, where's daddy?" Digna said one day as she was shaking from the cold with a worn out blanket over her shoulders. The mother did not answer. For it was when Digna was 5 that her father died from a rare disease. Digna was only 6. Her father was a rich man who fell in love with the single mother. Before Digna was born her father had left her for another. Digna knew she didn't have a father, she just wanted to know where he was. During that cold winter in Boston the mother did all that she could to keep Digna alive. She has been giving Digna her food so that she could be healthy. One day, the mother got very sick. She was pale, her eyes were bloodshot red and there was nothing she could do. She did not have any money for medication. "Mommy, will you be okay?" Asked Digna holding her mothers hand as she was coughing in bed. "Yes, sweetheart, I'll be okay. I'll do anything to protect you. I'll always be with you." Digna did not know what her mother meant by protecting her. She gave her mother a puzzled look. Then, saw her mother smile while looking into Dignas eyes and telling her with her eyes that she loves her with all her heart. Digna looked back with tears in her eyes, knowing what was happening. The mother said to her, "Honey, don't cry. I'll be okay." And with that, the mother's sprit went. Digna burried her head on her mothers stomach, crying. Begging for her back. Denying the fact that she was gone. She stayed up for nights thinking about what to do and how to go on with life. Her mother taught her how to cook and clean and take care of herself. And she did just that. Her mother and her talked about God and his glorious ways. She went to church for the very first time without her mother. Walked all alone with her short dirty blonde hair flowing in the breeze and tears in her big beautiful green eyes. The pastor asked Digna "Digna, where is your mother?" Digna replyed with a smile on her face with tears still in her eyes "She's inside me, and with Jesus." For they were both with her all times.
