Today, I will stand,
With my head held high
I have chosen to do my best,
So today, I will try.
My mind has been silenced
There is peace in my heart,
I have lacked this feeling for quite sometime,
So today, I finally start.
I feel somewhat content
The fear seems so small,
The sun seems to shine a little brighter
So today, I give it my all.
In this moment, I can look back on the past
Without tearing up inside.
It feels good to keep on fighting
And today, I feel so alive.
There are still things I don't understand
And I know this moment may soon fade away,
But for now, just this once
I will live for today.
