Darkness. That was all he could see. No other living creature knew what he was experiencing.
But that was about to change. Just like the prophecy said, it was the thousandth day of the thousandth year.
He could see the big ring of stars coming towards him. He reached out as far as he could and there was a large flash of white light.
He had escaped. He could see darkness no more, but a bright sunlight. He jumped and stood up proudly on a rock, saying one word.
"Notch."
