Chapter 1

(Ra's sanctuary)

"OZ!" I rolled to my side and groned.

God damn it. Jasper, it had to be him. He was the only one who would even think about waking me this early. I shot up and threw the nearest pillow at his goofy face.

"Get out." I pointed at the door and gave him a death glare.

"Come on Oz don't you want to train? I know how much you like to go hard on the newbie." Jasper's red eyes lit up with excitement.

"You know just as well as I do that you love that much more than me."

He let out a deep breath. "Fine but if you don't get up soon then you wouldn't be able to see Ra's discovery." This immediately caught my attention.

"What discovery?"

He smirked. "Well I guess you'll have to find out," he said before dancing out of the room while dodging my onslaught of pillows.

I groaned while tousling my long blond hair. Twin brothers suck. I rolled out of bed and went to put on my tunic. I sighed and looked at myself in the mirror. Staring back at me was a young man with solum features and bright golden eyes with intricate swirls in them. These days I look less and less like a human.

I snapped out of my trance and started to descend to Ra's floor. Whatever he had discovered to make Jasper so happy must have been interesting. I set foot on his floor and gasped.

Voices and images shot through my head at lightning speed. I stumbled before grabbing the railing of the stairs and took deep breaths, my heart racing.

"You ok Oz?" I looked up to see Ra in all of his glory looking at me concerned.

"Yeah, just another vision," I mumbled still trying to find my breath. His eyes widened as a large grin founds its way to his face. He grabbed my arm and pulled me to his sanctuary. He yanked me into a spinny chair before grabbing a spotlight and shinning it on my face.

"Tell me everything." I gulped and tried to figure out how to put it into words.

"Jesus Ra cut him some slack." Lancelot walked up from his floor and frowned at him.

I sighed with relief. "Thank you, Lance." I shot up remembering why I was there, "Ra Jasper told me you found something."

This peaked Lancelot's interest. "You found something?" Ra sighed realizing he wouldn't learn about what my vision was. It wasn't like it was anything important. My visions don't always pertain to me. I'll see things like a little girls birthday party, or a doctor working on a woman. This particular one was a young boy being tortured and dying. Disturbing but not relevant.

He grumbled and motioned for us to follow him. I stood and followed Lance into Ra's office.

"I was in town when I found this flyer." He motioned to a piece of paper hanging on the wall covered in notes and ideas from Ra.

In one week there shall be an arena match to fill an assistant position to one of the 13 wraths. Rules of the tournament shall be as followed.

1. Magic is allowed.

2. First to be killed or knocked out of the ring is the looser.

3. There is no forfeiting a match once it has begun.

4. All ages are allowed to participate.

5. No help from outside the ring.

6. Weapons are allowed.

Lancelot and I both stared at the paper in shock. This is going to be one bloody tournament.

"I hope you're not thinking what I think you are." I shot Ra a look of warning.

"It is the perfect chance and you know it," Ra said, "We have been waiting for years at a chance to even get close to the wraths. This can be our chance to bring this whole messed up monarchy crashing to the ground."

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes knowing that he was right.

"Fine but which one of us will enter. Jasper and I aren't on good terms with the capital, you are an exgod, and Lancelot is one of the most wanted people around."

"Well..., "Ra bit his lip in thought, "There is always the newbie." I slammed my fist onto the table.

"Nope, not happening."

"Come on, he is one of the strongest magic users out there, and he's a good fighter."

I put my head in my hands and groaned knowing that he probably was our best bet.

"Fine, Lancelot go get him. It's time to see what Jack Frost can do."

Well...I have to apologize, apparently, 2 weeks turned into a month. However, I am glad that I didn't rush this chapter because I worked out a few more kinks in the plot. I would also like to thank my friend Kungfu__panda for helping me make a much better cover. (Don't worry the cover will make sense later.) I would also like to say that this will be a 5 book series. (It will only be about 20-30 chapters per book though.) Each book will have 3 parts too. Anyway, I will see you all in hopefully less than a month.
