Even When It Hurts

In your eyes I see a constellation of stars

They glimmer behind your unshed tears

Concealed behind the well of your heart

In which from within sprouts oceans of hurt

They swallow the truth

Clogging your feelings

You breath in the salt water

And you drown amidst forgotten laughter

I watch from afar as the world tears you apart

Hands reaching to steal your light

Eyes wide to capture you crumbling

Mouths ready to swallow your cries

But even when it hurts,

You pretend it's okay.
