"Sorry. (cough) No idea how we got this. (cough)" said the woman. Suzi, Maddie, and the guys had been asking questions about the sickness ever since they got to Maddie's house and had eaten lunch. Every time it was the same answer: "No idea."
Suzi sighed. "Will we ever get any information?" She thought.
"It's getting late." Wil said.
"How about one more, and then we can go back to my house for the night." Maddie suggested.

"How'd it go, (cough) children?" Asked Mrs. S.
"Not so well." Ben replied.
"No one knew anything!!!" Matt complained. "And I'm cold, and hungry, and all worn out!"
"Sounds like you need a nice hot meal." replied Maddie's mom. "Dinner's on the stove. (cough) You go on and sit down, and it'll be right out."
"Gee, thanks Mrs. S!" the others wondered if Matt liked the attention more than even the idea of dinner.
After nice big bowls of chicken dumpling soup, and hot, relaxing baths, "the clan" as Maddie's dad had dubbed them, went off to bed.
