Jade pulled out a pair of spectacle once she was out of sight, sighing in relief as she can be her normal self again.
She always hated those girls. The same group of girls who made her life a living hell. If it wasn't for Perrie, she could've been hurt again. Perrie is like a sort of her safe place. Whenever they're together, Perrie always makes sure she's protected and that's exactly what Jade feels. She did like having her around but that doesn't mean she enjoyed watching people hating on Perrie too, just because she's friends with her. That's why she wanted to be as far as possible from the blonde, though her whole system tells different.
"Why can't I just defend myself?" She muttered under her breath, hating the fact that she becomes weak easily.
A moment later, a hand made contact on her shoulder making her jump and backed away from the figure. She's literally shaking while hugging herself, which is a normal thing she usually does now since the bullying stuff.
"No, no please. Don't hurt me, don't hurt me, I'd do anythi-"
"Hey hey hey it's me."
Jade looked up and laid eyes on those familiar blue ones who looked at her with so much concern and gentleness laced through them.
Perrie softly placed her hand on the brunnette's arm this time.
"It's me." She repeated.
Jade draw the blonde's hand away from her arm gently, trying her best not to get any closer.
"Please leave me alone, Perrie." She whispered, enough for the blonde to hear, who, instantly felt a little sad at her friend's blunt response.
Perrie frowned. "I'm not going anywhere Jade."
"I'm going then."
Jade gathered all her stuffs and got up, not before taking a glance at the blonde's ocean-like eyes.
Perrie got up as well, grabbing the smaller girl's arm delicately, afraid that it might lose her cool.
"Jade, seriously. Just stop." Perrie said.
Jade inhaled a sharp breath. The least thing that she'd want is to have an altercation with Perrie inside the school's premises where everyone could see them and 'report' it to one of the fantastic four as usual.
"I can handle myself, Perrie. Just... just leave me alone. I don't need your help."
Perrie's jaw clenched, not because of anger but because of commiseration over Jade's situation.
She gripped the brunnette's hand tightly despite of the girl's protest. Her eyes filled with concern while staring at Jade.
"What are you so afraid of? I'm here. No one's going to hurt you just let me take you ho-"
"I said no!"
Perrie's hand left contact with Jade's. She was honestly taken by surprise at the sudden outburst. Especially to Jade whom she knew was the most gentle human she'd ever known.
Jade bit her lip anxiously, instantly regretted shouting at the blonde. Perrie was nothing but nice to her yet she's acted like a bitch.
"I-I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I... I d-don't know what... I..."
Perrie eased forward and brought the girl in her embrace, in which Jade has instantly melted into. Jade latched onto Perrie this time, really feeling sorry for snapping at her for no reason at all. Perrie on the other hand was running her fingers through brown locks while rubbing the smaller girl's back softly.
"It's fine."
Jade pulled away slightly and looked up at her, her eyes were a little glossy.
"Thank you. I honestly don't know what I'd do without you and Leigh and Harry. I wish I could just disappear in this world so I can't be bullied by then and then everyone would be so happy about it and-"
"Don't ever say that, Jade." Perrie stated firmly. She always hated it when Jade thinks so low of herself.
Jade sighed and rested her head on the blonde's shoulder since it's the only part she could reach due to her being small.
"It's true. People hate me, well except for my family, Hazza and Leigh. And of course, you. Don't you hate me?" Jade queried.
Perrie sighed, rubbing small circles on the girl's back.
"I could really hate you. I hate you because you hate yourself."
Jade pulled away once more, but this time, she really did took a step back.
"Because there's nothing to be loved about me." Jade muttered with a dull demeanour. She witnessed how Perrie's face hardened at her statement soon turning into a frown.
"Just go pick up your stuff. I'm taking you home whether you like it or not."
Jade nodded reluctantly and begun recollecting her things which had fallen on the ground awhile ago.
"Jade?"
Jade hummed in response.
"Everything about you deserves to be loved."
Jade swore she could literally feel all her blood rushing towards her face and stayed there, leaving a visible crimson shade which she knew would probably not gonna fade away soon.
"Let's go." Perrie said once Jade was done and held her hand again.
The brunnette gulped, knowing Perrie won't let go of her hand any time soon. And to be seen with her while fantastic four might me around? Fantastic!
"Uhm... Perrie, m-my hand."
"What about it?"
Just as Perrie turned back to face her, her sight caught a glimpse of four sophisticated-looking girls wearing highly-developed fashion dresses, walking across them. They were far enough not to see her with Perrie but it still gave her trepidation about being with the blonde.
Jade's breathing became ragged which caused her to hide behind Perrie's back and held the hem of the taller girl's shirt. She lifted it up and situated her head inside the shirt, obviously hiding her visage from the view.
Perrie's laugh was half beacuse of the girl's antics and part of it was because she was a ticklish person and with Jade being situated inside of her shirt with her constant breathing hitting her bare back wasn't really helping.
She tried to stifle a laugh, knowing full well the fantastic four was still in their sight. Once they were gone, Jade got out of her confines and Perrie instantly exploded with fits of laughter.
"Why did... you d-do that for?" Perrie asked in between laughs.
Jade couldn't help it but laugh as well. Only a little 'coz she wasn't a 'laughing person' according to her.
She slapped a hand on her forehead. "I don't know. S'just with them being around and I lost control of my movements and I kinda just needed to hide inside your shirt 'cause I was scared and I'm really sorry if it wasn't okay for you and I know it was silly and foolish of me to even do so and-"
"Hey, easy there babes. I'm not saying anything. I just find it really funny... and cute." Perrie said, whispering the last part which got unnoticed by the shorter Geordie.
Jade smiled. "I wanna go home and eat biscuits."
Perrie chuckled and nodded, holding the girl's hand and ran towards the parking lot where Perrie's car would be. The whole time they were running, Jade's face maintained the smiling feature.
The whole time they were running, her heart also competed with the pace. And she sure know it wasn't just because of running.
