(a/n the school is for troubled kids trying to find god. i don't know if there is such thing but if there is i need to go to it. lmao jk. anyways i just wanted to clarify that. they also only have to go there on the weekends. and public school on week days. i don't usually write in omniscient but it's only the introduction.)
omniscient.
Evelyn swallows the huge lump that formed in her throat. It was her first speech in front of the Sunday school. She heard and saw a various amount of classmates speeches, not any of them once looking down at there papers or stuttering. She suffered from severe anxiety and her mother placed her in this class over the weekends cause she felt like Evelyn needed god in her life to "direct her towards the right path." She had to do this speech in order to get a good grade and please her mom.
She knows that no one at the christian school will judge her, but it was still nerve wrecking.
"H-He hears our prayers, and is with us in our struggles, but he can only act through the willing heart. So when I want to know his will, I-I let his love fill me, and then I know." Evelyn trails on, stuttering a bit. She tried to sound as convincing as possible. She doesn't even know what to believe in.
"God is love and love I-is God. He's like a compass, he provides us with the right ways and directions to go. He's my serenity. I hold on to what I know of him, that he is love, and love does not discriminate between gender, culture, race, or sexual orientation. And for that I am eternally thankful."
The whole class claps in pure adoration, even Mrs.Carrlington. Evelyn felt a huge weight lift off her shoulders as she watched her feet take steps across the glossy tiles off the stage, as the teacher stepped on.
"That was a great speech. Well, hello class." Mrs.Carrlington greets the class.
"Hi's" and "Hey's" scattered throughout Christian school.
Evelyn inwardly groans, she doesn't want to be here. It's not that she doesn't believe in god, she doesn't know what to believe in after all she had to go through it all since the age of 6.
"We have a new student, today. His name is Jahseh. Jahseh please come to the stage." Mrs.Carrlington announced, no expression drawn on her face.
Evelyn thought Mrs.Carrlington was only there for the high pay in checks, not for God, or because she wants us to draw closer to him. The aura that she gives off is unwillingness and sometimes she stumbles over her words not knowing what to say for today's lesson. But Evelyn considered herself used to it by now.
Evelyn slumps on one of there plastic chairs, and stares at her lap not caring to look up. She honestly could care less about this school. She'd rather be here listening to some Blink 182, or watching Jane The Virgin in her pajamas.
"I'm Jahseh, i'm 17." His raspy voice outwardly addressed. Evelyn takes a good look at this boy.
He had a white dress shirt that hung over his black dress pants, what covered was a black suit. His sleeves rolled to his elbows, showing his many desirable tattoos. Evelyn hasn't seen anybody that weird looking. Not even in a bad way.
He was mysterious and he looks emotionless, he hasn't smiled once. Not even when Mrs. Carrlington cracked one of her mom jokes. Which was super funny to Evelyn, since the amount of effort she puts into those jokes.
He travels off the stage not to swiftly and not to slow.
Evelyn couldn't keep her eye off of him, he's like dead. The fuck happened to him and why is he even here?
Mrs.Carrlingtons disgustingly sweet voice cuts Evelyn's trance off.
Evelyn's sighs and rubs her temples, and shuffles uncomfortably in the plastic chair.
