"Grayson, I'm going to work," I smile as I press a kiss on his forehead.
"Be careful," he smiles; pulling me in a hug.
"You know I'll be fine," I laugh. "It's not like I'm going to get murdered,"
"Avery, not funny," he gives me a look. "Something could truly happen to you,"
"Gray, nothing could be worse than the things that already happened," I whisper.
"Yeah, we are not gonna talk about that now boo. Go get your fatt ass to work," he laughs, mimicking a gay person. I smile. This boy became the world to me.
He helped me through everything that happened to me after I found out what Ethan did to me. I never thought a heart could be broken so bad, you just want to end things. Forever. Thats what I wanted. I was done living the happy life everyone always expects you to live. But we all gotta meet reality. Life is a hard bitch.
I walk through the small doors of my favorite company. Starbucks. I open my eyes, letting the warm air hit me. A smell of wood and peppermint fills my nose. This place is amazing to work. Everyone is so loving.
I walk to my little locker getting out my uniform. These uniforms aren't so terrible you know. They're kinda comfy.
I put my hair in a ponytail and walk to the desk. A tall boy with brown hair is walking in. His muscles are shown underneath his shirt, his skinny jeans are perfectly fitting around his long legs and his hair is hanging sloppy before his eyes.
"Can I help you," I smile friendly, a little to fake if you would see it.
"I'd like a pumpkin spice latte please," he doesn't look up from his phone. He seems so familiar. Have I seen him before?
I grab the plastic cup, ready to write his name on it. "Name?"
"Ethan," he says. And for that moment it seems like everything is back to where it all began. The first meeting, the first time, the bet. I blink a few times, trying to get rid of the heavy feeling in my chest.
Just. Act. Like. You're. Fine.
I make my way to get his order ready. It takes a lot longer then i expected. I walk over to the little corner that exists to grab your orders and leave.
"Ethan," I whisper, finishing the drink. The tall boy walks over to me, grabbing his drink. He touches my hand and a shiver goes through my body. He connects our eyes and I see his expression fall.
"Avery?" a little smile wrapping around his plump lips.
"I'm sorry, do I know you?" I ask. He thinks I forgot him. I should. But I can't.
"Oh cut the crap. I know you remember me. How can you forget me after everything we've been through?"
"Well, that's what makes me want to forget you," I say. I walk over to the cash desk. "That will be 4,45 please,"
He grabs some money out of his pocket and slams it on the counter. "Keep the change,"
I put the tip in the jar. I don't want his money. "Have a nice day," I smile, making an attempt to walk over to the back.
"Avery please," he begs. "Let me explain,"
"Goodbye sir," Iwhisper. I undo myself from my working clothes before walking over to my boss. I knock softly on the door.
"Come in," she yells. I silently open the door which makes a soft noice. "Avery, how can I help you?"
"I'd like to go home please. I think I ate something bad this morning," I smile. She types something in on her computer.
"You're free to go. You're always at work and always on time. It's not a problem. Take care," she smiles. I nod before going off to home. Home with grayson.
Tears stream down my face as I get in the car. I haven't seen him in a year and damn, he still looks hot. But I will never forget what he did to me. He broke me into a tiny billion little pieces. Just for money. I connect my phone to the bluetooth speaker before dialling grays number.
"You're favourite person," he answers the call.
"G-gray," I burst out in tears.
"Ave? Are you okay?"
"No i'm not," I sniff. "I saw him today grayson,"
"Who,"
"Ethan,"
"What? How? When?" he seems to panic.
"At work," I whisper. "I'm off to home so i'll be there in ten,"
"Alright," he says. "I'll make sure the movie and hot chocolate are ready! See you in ten ave"
"Bye, love you,"
"Love you too,"
I put on some very loud music, melody's filling my ears.
To be honest, I knew I had to face him someday. I just hoped it wasn't today and not at work. I want to forgive him, but how do you forgive someone who took advantage of you body and virginity just for a shot load of money. I don't think there's any way around that. You just can't. You shouldn't. So what makes me think about forgiving him?
I need to forget him. I just don't know how. But it's gonna work this time. I just gotta push a little harder.
I park the car into the drive way of our house. I get out before storming into the warmth. It's cold outside. Thank god autumn.
"Avery? Is that you?" Grayson yells from the kitchen.
"Yup," I smile as I wrap my arms around him. "I missed you,"
"I missed you too, red cheeks. But now we're gonna watch a movie and let you forget about this day. Deal?"
"Deal,"
