Monochrome awakened in an unknown place. The area seemed to be like some sort of mountain.

Clutching his aching forehead, he mumbled to himself the questions anyone would think when awakening in the mountains, "Where am I? And how the hell did I get here?"

He walked around, trying to get an idea as to where he was exactly. Traveling deeper into the mountain, the temperature became noticeably hotter. He stepped in a small rock that was so heated that it broke into tiny pieces when he collided with it. The heat traveled through his shoe, his nerves sending him the pain.

"Damn!" He remarked. "It seems that it won't be like this for long. I'll pass through quickly. Maybe the exit will present itself.

He tried to move through the heat as quickly as possible, ignoring the pain that came with his every step. Strangely, what came directly after the burning tunnel was not the exit, but a pathway of ice.

"How is this even possible?"

Curious, he pushed himself on. He was climbing up some rocks when a sudden voice made him fall flat on his face.

"Misterrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!" The voice exclaimed, seemingly from the sky. Not too soon after the cry, a blueish dragon-like girl was revealed from the clouds. She landed gracefully on the ground, continuing to speak. "You're awake. That's good to see."

"Who...are you?" Monochrome asked.

"Name's Flyte. You?"

"...Monochrome."

"Good to meet ya, Mono!"

"Why does everyone insist on calling me 'Mono'? It really gets on my nerves..." Monochrome groaned. "Just because she considers herself my 'girlfriend', Bolt calls me that, too. Everyone else picked on it as well. What the hell...?!" He piped up his voice to be audible again. "Y-yes. It is...'good' to meet you as well, Flyte."

Sudden awkward silence between the two.

"So...Can you do me a favor and tell me where I am?"

"You are in a mountain none other than Mt. Mist, the tallest mountain in the world!" Flyte replied casually.

"T-tallest...mountain...in the...w-world..." Monochrome echoed, slight fear in his voice.

"Aww, you have a fear of heights, do you?" Flyte grinned.

" 'A fear of heights is illogical. A fear of falling, on the other hand, is prudent and evolutionary' (quote from Sheldon of the Big Bang Theory. XD)"

"So he watches the Big Bang Theory, does he?" Flyte muttered, laughing a little in disbelief. "Okay, fine. You are scared of falling."

"Shut up! I am no such thi-"

"Yeah...sure. Your frightened tone totally agrees with what you say... That's sucks for you." Flyte laughed.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Monochrome asked in irritation.

"Well... Let's just say you are at the highest possible point of the mountain AND you are literally on 'the edge of glory'."

"Edge of glory?"

"Yeah. Did I stutter? The edge of the highest peak where a great hero was said to stand epically. ...Before he slipped and fell the whole way down, his body being ultimately crushed and every bone in his body shattered." Flyte answered.

"HOLY SHIT!" Monochrome lept forward, the fear coursing through his being like blood. "I need to get out of here. RIGHT NOW!"

A chilly, quiet voice rung in the air. "Monochrome..."
