"Twilight dear, why ever do you need so much fabric?" asked Rarity as Twilight Sparkle stepped towards a chest of clothes and fabrics in the Carousel Boutique.
"Because I have a spell that requires approximately twelve feet of ocean blue fabric. And the spell can't be done without it. I know it sounds crazy but it's true." said Twilight as she cut herself the the twelve feet of fabric that she needed with her magic. Twilight trotted up to the counter that was used for purchasing fabrics and began to pull out a few bits from her saddle bag. As she was about to place the bits on the counter, Rarity stopped her by shoving her hoof in Twilight's face.
"Don't worry, its on me. I understand how much you need it. And uh… what is this spell supposed to do exactly?" Rarity wondered. Twilight heaved a big sigh before she began talking.
"It's supposed to conjure a magical pony that will act as a bodyguard. If I'm a princess now, I'll need some protection. And plus it's another new spell that I can add to all my other ones that I've completed." Twilight explained.
"Well then, I guess you should better be off then. I'll see you later!" yelled Rarity as Twilight happily ran out the door.
Ponyville smelled fresh and full of laughter as Twilight took the first few steps outside of the Carousel Boutique. As she made her way back to her castle, she stopped to look and wave at everypony that greeted her. She opened her wings and then took off to her living quarters in a hurry to get the new spell completed.
As Twilight opened the door, Spike stood before her with the spell book that she had been reading from.
"I was taking a look at this new spell you were trying out and I found a few things in it that could make the spell go completely wrong. I thought that you might of wanted to take a look at it, so I book marked and highlighted some spots." said Spike as he gestured for me to take the spell book.
"Thank you my number one assistant," Twilight complimented. Spike smiled and continued on with his work. Twilight slowly opened the book with her magic to the correct page near the back of the book and looked at what Spike had highlighted. "I appreciate your concern Spike, but these things that you highlighted have a very rare and slim chance at happening."
"But just look at what they say: if wrong flowers are used, a manticore will appear instead. If incorrect fabric is used, bodyguard will have the opposite of its original purpose. I don't know Twilight, it seems too risky." Spike added.
"But we still have to try. This could be one of my greatest spells that I've ever been able to pull off." Twilight mentioned. Spike sighed then shrugged and began to make his way up the stairs for another seven hour bubble bath.
Twilight set up all the things she needed to complete the spell and set the book on the floor and began to read the instructions.
"Place two dandelions on the left and right side of the book, then add one dagger on the top and bottom of book," She read. Twilight placed all the objects in their correct locations and read further. "Lay fabric over top of book and recite spell from memory. Well, this shouldn't be too hard." Twilight told herself as she gently placed the fabric over top of the book.
Twilight concentrated and held her horn over top of the book. A bright glow of pink sprouted from her horn and swirled around her head. The magic soon swirled around her body and then the entire room. The spot where the book stood began to glow a vibrant white and grew even brighter and larger. Twilight took a momment to peek open her eye and see how the spell was coming along.
" Ah!" Twilight blurted as her concentration broke and she suddenly flew back into a shelve of books and blacked out.
